Full Stack Java - Software Engineer

Job Description

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems  

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets 

  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices 

  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture 

  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as; Java 1.7 or up, J2EE, and Web Services/SOA.

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement 

  • Extensively used Java frameworks – Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JAXB, XML, JSON and building REST based APIs, micro service architecture and cloud.  Experience with building micro-service APIs for access and usage of domain data.

  • Exposure of asynchronous messaging protocols (IBM MQ, JMS, Kafka.  Strong understanding of object oriented programming and design patterns.  Experience with Automated DevOps pipeline for Continuous Integration/Deployment, and test automation using GIT, Bitbucket, Jira, Maven, Jenkins, JUnit, and Cucumber.

  • In depth Knowledge of UNIX operating system.  Broad range of experience and understanding of web/internet technologies not limited to Tomcat and Eclipse/Intellij.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to design; incorporate security requirements into design, comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all phases. Adhering to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application.

  • Translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules. Facilitates resolution and communication of cross-application/organization architectural issues and decisions

  • Develop high quality code per technical specification.  Facilitate code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architecture.  Identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues, review and provide feedback to any required final user documentation.  Participate in end to end delivery of application code, Manage their Build and Unit testing.
