Data Architect Associates are responsible for evaluating, developing, defining, and coordinating the data (and metadata) needed to drive business execution and analytics. The Data Architect Associate participates under direction as an individual contributor in the design of data needed to drive business execution and analytics.  This may include activities such as program management, data analysis/wrangling, metadata definitions, data flow design, data security requirements, data quality analysis, and business process analysis.


Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate use case and requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of new data delivery and analytic capabilities that address specific business needs.
  • Enable the management of data as a corporate asset: define data (and metadata), identify systems of record and authoritative sources, create data quality rules, define security requirements, create data flow diagrams, and administer firm-wide principles, standards, and controls.

  • Create conceptual and logical models to describe a particular domain of data and use these models to inform the physical design of data-related projects.  Consult enterprise and industry models.

  • Manage strategic roadmaps for a data domain that describe a sequence of projects to improve management and utility of the data for the business.

  • Profile, wrangle, and prepare test plans for data quality to support analytical efforts.  Leverage SQL toolkit to build and execute testing logic.

  • Conduct business process analysis and identify data needed to support the processes.  Determine whether the firm’s data is fit for use within a given process.

  • Identifies process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Prioritizes and manages in a way that uses resources effectively.

  • Develops and manages preventative processes to strengthen the control framework and monitor for potential process failures or weaknesses.  

     



  • 3+ years of related experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database management.
  • Strong command of SQL and/or Python programming languages
  • Working knowledge in data technologies; i.e., data warehousing, ETL, data quality concepts, business Intelligence tools and analytical tools, machine learning, etc.
  • Understanding of Spark frameworks and Hadoop-related technologies & their applications
  • Technical understanding of common relational database systems; i.e., Teradata and Oracle
  • Experience with agile methodology and project management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s in related field preferred
