Marketing Manager - Starbucks Credit Card Capabilities and Prepaid Card Product Owner

Job Description


The candidate will play a primary role in several areas within the Starbucks Cobrand relationship:


  1. Starbucks Prepaid Card owner - new acquisitions, engagement and servicing.

  2. Ownership of Starbucks cross-product capabilities - - this will include Instant Credit process/files/fraud strategy/etc. as well as working with the Partner and internal teams on the implementation for preapproved card offers. 

  3. All contractual reporting between Chase and the Partner


The ideal candidate will be seeking a senior level 603 role in which they will be able demonstrate their skills in collaboration, project management, marketing strategy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. This individual will have high visibility, and daily involvement, with multiple stakeholders within the leadership team, key internal functional partners and cobrand partner representatives. 




  • Have accountability and ownership for the Starbucks Cobrand Prepaid Card plus own the capabilities and tech infrastructure for both the Starbucks Credit Card and Prepaid Card - including:

    • Developing business case(s) to prioritize deploying capabilities with the Partner

    • Primary point of contact with the Partner for new launch of any capabilities/functionality with the Partner (instant credit, Unleash API, rewards files, etc.)

    • Primary point of contact and assisting with ongoing testing as needed

    • Take initiatives from ideas to fruition using any resources available through self-motivated pursuit

    • Maintain an ongoing marketing and reporting calendar, ensuring the partner receives everything needed per their contract

    • Manage to service levels in a mutually signed contract

    • Extensive interaction with internal peers and the Partner to consistently deliver quality results grounded in the best interest of the business, customers and Partner

    • Develop the go-forward strategy for the Starbucks Prepaid Card









  • Proven marketing experience preferably within Credit Card

  • Very strong project management, communication, multi-tasking, innovation, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to deliver consistently high quality work product

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to a range of audiences – from senior management to operations groups and the Partner

  • Inquisitive self-starter

  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-awareness

  • Ability to think analytically and strategically while managing multiple tactical priorities

  • Passion for problem solving, persistence and patience, strong desire to learn and grow professionally

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, solve problems creatively, and deal with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead and influence cross-functional internal /external teams

  • Preference for candidate with understanding of internal processes, procedures and systems

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA is a plus
