Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer& Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

 

The Acquisition Credit Strategy  team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Card products. This includes data analysis, strategy development, financial evaluation, and support strategy implementation. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct complex analysis to support consumer new account strategies. 

  • Develop and refine criteria that enhances the return on investment of consumer credit risk strategies.

  • Analyze risk inputs and conduct research and analysis of the performance and profitability of existing strategies while working to ensure adherence to regulatory based initiatives, procedural alignment with Risk Policy and  a strong control environment.

  • Perform quantitative analysis of customer credit card behaviors, revenue drivers, and expense drivers to develop present value forecasts of various investment alternatives.

  • Manage the prioritization of technology investments through analysis and evaluation to predict and compare profitability of various enhancements in the pipeline.

  • Provide consistent framework to assess loss and profitability dynamics associated with credit decisions in normal as well as stressed economic scenarios.

  • Provide analytical support to the strategy teams in developing robust methodology, algorithm, and financially sound evaluation framework for credit risk strategies.

  • Utilize knowledge of risk modeling, profitability modeling, and relevant statistical knowledge to develop risk analysis framework that is consistent with the firm’s risk appetite framework.

  • Partner closely with other strategy areas of Risk, Marketing, and Finance to coordinate integration of risk appetite framework into credit strategies.

 


Qualifications:
  • Advanced  degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), Business, Finance or Analytics field

  • 5+ years of business analysis experience or related experience

Skills Required:
  • Research and analysis in the areas of economics, statistics, econometrics modeling and data mining skills applicable to risk management in banking;

  • Programming and conducting research in analytical languages including SAS, SQL, Oracle/ Teradata, Enterprise Miner/ Knowledge Seeker, and Decision tree;

  • Analyzing and structuring large and multiple database systems under UNIX system;

  • Statistical modeling such as Decision Tree or Regression and Risk or Valuation models;

  • Using knowledge of mathematical programming to create optimization models;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment valuation methods, including Net Present Value, for evaluating business opportunities based on the lifetime value of investments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment valuation methods, including Capital Budgeting, for evaluating business opportunities based on the lifetime value of investments.

  • Experience in loss/profitability forecasting methodologies using advanced statistical techniques;

  • Conduct analysis on Credit Card customers’ payment behavior, balance build, outstanding quality over time, credit line usage, etc., both at normal and stress economic environments.

  • Help build segmentation for risk strategies by analyzing candidate variables for incremental risk separation on top of traditional risk models and behavior for the near prime portfolio.

  • Interact with counter parts in various functional areas such as Acquisitions and Portfolio Center of Excellence to communicate findings on both a layperson and technical basis.

  • Presenting analytical findings and make business recommendations via the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

  • Presenting advanced analytics related to risk management, marketing/CRM analytics, finance, collections, or relevant analytic areas in the financial industry; and

  • Using knowledge of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and corporate finance to drive solid strategy recommendation.
