Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others.


The newly formed CCB Risk Management Recession Readiness Team is responsible for driving governance, monitoring key performance metrics that may signal a downturn in portfolio performance, and developing a  recession playbook.   This team will work closely with Line of Business risk management teams to drive consistency in approach to ensure Chase is best prepared in the likelihood of a recession.   The team will work with a variety of data including macro-economic, external consumer behavior, industry performance and Chase internal customer data.  The role will provide an opportunity to materially impact and interact with both our Consumer and Business Banking portfolios. The team also offers significant learning and mobility opportunities for career development and future growth.


In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will be able to drive cross functional work stripes.  The candidate will provide expertise in big data, machine learning, and business intelligence.


 Participate in a high-performing team

  • Participate in cross functional communications with Risk Management and Risk modeling teams to drive insight
  • Drive consistency across CCB in recession readiness reporting
  • Develop governance and oversight across CCB for recession playbook and actions
  • Deliver meaningful insights to leadership around our Macro-economic, industry and our businesses trends
  • Use data analysis tools/platforms to analyze data from multiple sources
  • Drive and build presentations to tell a story


  •  Analytical and project management skills (creative, risk taker, willing to think differently, comfortable playing with data)

  • Strong Leadership skill with the ability to think and communicate effectively  to both technical and non-technical audiences (decisive, business-oriented and quick)

  •  A bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance/Stats/Econ/Math/Engineering) or equivalent work/training is required.  Advanced degree preferred.

  •  3+ years of Credit Risk Management, Marketing Analytics and/or Consulting experience
  • Strong knowledge of SAS, SQL and MS Office required
  • Strong P&L knowledge and understanding of drivers of profitability
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of data and its impact in both operational and financial areas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to build and tell a story) 
  • Ability to develop elegant and common-sense solutions to complex business challenges
