CCB Business Process Lead

Job Description

As a Business Process Lead for the Ultimate Rewards Platform, you will be responsible for managing a critical vendor and/or key functionality on Ultimate Rewards.  You will become an expert on the platform and play a critical role in strategic project initiatives, risk and process controls and operations management and execution.  The incumbent will work closely with the various Chase business and operations teams, IT application teams, legal and product teams, UR Marketing, and other support areas to understand our collective needs and objectives in improving the platform, reducing risks and process gaps, and how it interacts with customers.  Strong leadership, decision and organizational skills are needed to achieve business objectives, maintain strong controls and to ensure effective delivery of the desired end-to-end customer experience. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in project or vendor management, complex process mapping, and managing dynamic initiatives to completion and have experience leading both small and of large development projects. 


Release and Project Management

  • Act as a Leader for critical and strategic Rewards projects for Marketing and other departments.
  • Participation on project teams will require extensive interaction with other groups within Marketing, IT, Operations, Marketing Services, Customer Service, the Internet team, and Vendors.
  • Oversee Vendor Releases following SDLC methodology
  • Primary interface with vendor PM's and technical resources tracking to major milestones in the project lifecycle
  • Collect and interpret business requirements and review and approve internal and external (vendor) functional requirements necessary to implement large project initiatives.
  • Own and develop operational impact matrices based on the business requirements
  • Work with Chase IS and vendors to develop functional specifications, with specific focus on how business rules and configuration tools will be developed.
  • Manage and coordinate test activities which includes working with the testing team to develop test plans, provide final approval on plans and assist testers in identifying appropriate test scenarios.
Vendor Management
  • Assume vendor control and management responsibilities, including ensuring all performance criteria and service level agreements are met per contract.
  • Participation in Vendor contract reviews, updates and negotiations.

Process Engineering and Improvements

  • Design operational process maps and flows for new or existing functionality within Rewards
  • Create and/or modify procedure documentation to support new or changing business processes as a result of new functionality.
  • Recommend changes or enhancements to processes or tools that will impact deliverables, timelines, and productivity of the team.

Ultimate Rewards Platform Mgmt

  • Conduct effective day-to-day management of platform operations
  • Manage the customer experience and drive risk mitigating code and process deployments for strategic rewards initiatives
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and implement appropriate Controls
  • Manage configuration, build and set up activities for new or existing rewards products

  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience-REQUIRED
  • College degree required; advanced degree preferred. PMP certification desired
  • Strong PC skills required including MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in an IT or Business project management role
  • Vendor Management experience preferred
  • Travel industry experience a plus
  • Customer servicing experience within a call center a plus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills required with ability to influence at senior levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Must have the ability to be proactive with a strong bias for action, be naturally inquisitive, and have bias for continuous improvement of practices and processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and addressing issues in a timely manner ensuring least impact on project timelines and overall risk; organized, structured work style
  • Proven initiative and creativity
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm, to manage and motivate project teams; execution focused
  • Strong inter-personal skills so that he/she inspires/motivates the project team and instill confidence and trust within the business, operations and technology teams.
