Chase Data & Analytics Team unifies data and analytics talent across Chase to responsibly leverage data to build competitive advantages for our businesses with value and protection for customers. The Auto D&A team utilizes data, analytics, visualization and advanced analytics to drive meaningful impacts for our customers, dealers and partners. The Position:


We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to be part of our Auto ML team. In this role, you will be at the center of all the decision making, you will use the latest ML/DL and data science techniques to continuously optimize every aspect of the business, including segmentation, targeting, forecasting, lead gen analysis, channel optimization and a whole new category of decision management for day to day operations. 


You will design and build machine learning-powered products that help our customers learn from their data and make better decisions in real-time. You will work alongside a brilliant team of curious, data obsessed individuals that ingests, transforms, enriches and connects data as well as those that explore, identify drivers, visualize, analyze and drive insights from the data resulting in unique, high-impact solutions for our customers.   


You will work on a variety of extremely challenging problems. You will translate problems into analytical and ML tasks, solve the problem and articulate to your business partner the “how” & “why” of your methodology and “so what” of your results, enabling them to take action. You will be involved in early stage ideation and the development of high-impact analyses and proofs-of-concept as well as develop and validate machine learning models that form a critical part of a large-scale application. 


You will own the full Data Science life-cycle from conception to prototyping, testing, deploying, and measuring its overall business value. You will partner with our tech teams to architect, build and enhance ML platforms for our algorithmic engines to run at scale. You will incubate, test and incorporate into practice new data, insights and academic research, measuring incrementalism of each.



Qualifications


  • Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field preferred: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computing and Information Theory, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, or Industrial / Electrical Engineering

  • 6+ years of producing and overseeing advanced analytics work. 2+ years people management or project lead experience, particularly in the advanced analytics space

  • Experienced in supporting organizations with advanced analytics, delivering presentations to high level business stakeholders that tell cohesive, logical stories using data

  • Consulting orientation with ability to influence both internal & external business partners. Comfortable creating and presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing/motivating multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated history of leading end-to-end machine learning initiatives and identifying new opportunities to grow the business and customer experience

  • Demonstrated versatility in working with different types of data; financial, digital marketing, transactional e-commerce, event-level product data, unstructured data

  • Demonstrated ability to build and mentor great teams that are diverse and cohesive. Ability to build trust-based relationships                                                    


Analytical Requirements


  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and statistical techniques, such as data mining, data analysis, data transformations, dimensionality reduction, feature engineering, modeling, time series forecasting, text mining, experimental design, A/B and multivariate testing, and matched pairs analytic and ETL techniques

  • Proficiency in ML scripting languages such as Python, Spark, Scala, SAS, R, Julia.

  • Experience working with various databases (Teradeta, Oracle, Snowflake, S3, DataBricks), data lake querying engines (Dremio, Presto, AtScale) and database querying languages (SQL, HQL, SparkSQL)

  • Experience working with private and public Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, AWS, Azure, GCP.

  • Experience with data story-telling through dynamic and interactive visualization applications such as Tableau, Looker, Qlik, QuickSight

  • Experience in Hadoop stack technologies - Hive, Impala, Spark, Oozie, MapReduce

  • Experience in source control technologies like SVN/Git
