Job Description:


The Position

 

We are looking for a highly effective candidate who will play a critical role in understanding and improving the performance of a virtual assistant’s ability to understand the language of our users. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for efficiently and accurately reviewing incoming user responses from conversations with a virtual assistant and collaborate with product owners in order to improve the technology’s overall language comprehension. We need a candidate that maintains a close attention to detail with the ability to be divisive in a fast-paced environment, and additionally be able to effectively speak to their findings regarding the data. Strong communication, dedication to quality, and effective time management skills are very important for this role.

 

The Linguistics Data Analyst will be part of the Digital Product Team that utilizes machine learning approach to improve our customers experience across our platforms such as the Chase Mobile app.  The team is responsible for managing the Chase virtual assistant.

 

Responsibilities

  • Annotate and code incoming transcriptions from conversations with a virtual assistant
  • Prepare data for new language training in order to teach new skills to a virtual assistant
  • Monitor and assess performance of virtual assistant’s language comprehension and identify areas of improvement
  • Collaborate in cross-functional workstreams throughout the development process in order fulfill business needs
  • Identify improvement opportunities and be able to effectively report back on ways to strengthen language training based on performance and annotation
  • Develop good understanding of business requirements and be able to apply and analyze accuracy of interactions in relation to original requirements
  • Be able to apply knowledge of machine learning to prepare new language data in order to expand on virtual assistant’s language comprehension
  • Write and maintain guidelines for ongoing annotation processes and documentation

  • Ability to influence stakeholders with diverse points of view
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight delivery timelines and calmness under intense pressure
  • BS or MS in Business Management or comparable field of study
  • Experience with agile product development techniques and continuous integration philosophies and practices for speed to market is a plus
  • 1-3 years coding data and knowledge of basic annotation methodologies
  • Experience working in a corporate environment
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and keep numerous tasks on track with high level of quality
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a highly innovative field
  • Maintains close attention to detail applied across multiple streams of work 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners

 

  • Basic understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence
