ATM Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

Consumer Banking Technology is seeking an Application Owner/Delivery Manager to lead the software engineering team that develops and maintains the firm’s ATM software. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the development of one of Chase's most important customer interactions, at the scale of our entire ATM network.  The role includes direct interaction with Consumer Business and Operations teams, supporting the overall business strategies to deepen customer relationships, and reduce cost for servicing our ATM fleet.  The role also includes interacting and managing several relationships with our ATM vendors.  The Application Owner has the responsibility of managing the ATM software asset, as well as managing the software engineers that are responsible for delivering features.


As the application owner, you are accountable to ensure that our ATM software is built with appropriate controls, and in line with architectural standards as required within JPMC.


As a people manager, this role requires a passion for mentoring our software development staff with a focus on being a servant leader, and enabling our teams to be the best engineers possible.  Removing obstacles for the team to allow them to achieve their fullest potential is required for our collective success.


In addition to being a people manager, it is critical that the leader of this team has experience in a Java based application development environment, including a more traditional J2EE environment, as well as modern technology components including cloud based architectures and micro-services.




  • 5+ years of managing software development delivery teams, preferably in Java web applications and client server.
  • Advanced knowledge in full J2EE stack 
  • Expert in building server side MVC architecture based applications
  • Strong understanding of design principles for front end (client side) and server side applications.
  • Understanding of micro-services, cloud based principles. Hands-on experience in building cloud based applications is a plus.
  • Experience with unit test coverage tools such as Junit.
  • Experience with build tools such as Ant, Maven and Gradle.
  • Experience with source code management repositories such as Git and have strong code review skills.
  • Good knowledge in javascript and other javascript frameworks/libraries(Angular, React, Vue) is a plus.
  • Need to have up to date information in software industry (tools, technologies, frameworks, APIs etc.)
  • Experience in troubleshooting production issues.
  • Adhere to strong coding and documentation skills and standards.
  • Understanding of Agile scrum methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with Sr. Leadership team and rest of the development teams.
  • Able to organize and handle technical discussion with architects and Sr. leaders.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, secure coding practices and OWASP top 10.

  • SPLUNK and its Search Processing Language (SPL)
  • Spring boot
  • Spring Webflow
  • WebSphere
  • Shell scripting
  • DB2 or other relational database technologies
  • Cassandra or similar distributed database technologies
  • Maven, GIT, and JENKINS


    Experience/ exposure to the following is desired/ a plus:
  • CEN/ XFS
  • CI/CD processea
  • MSI WiX toolset
  • Windows 7/ Windows 10 power shell
  • Windows Whitelisting
