Our Team

Associate event planner will create and execute client events from concept to execution.  The planner will play a role in the event strategy for the markets in the West, bringing creative ideas, suggested venues and proposed content to the market with considerable thought to strategic execution. Planner will assist manager and colleagues with all work related to any event responsibilities including the Private Bank’s participation in the  J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.  Planner will also provide support for the US Head of Events for special projects on an as needed basis.


The job demands interaction with colleagues on the global events team and the larger marketing group, bankers and product partners, and senior management so that we can ensure a consistent and distinctive experience for clients which underscore our business strategies. The planner will primarily focus on local/regional client events but can be involved in large events targeting a global client base. This position demands strong Microsoft excel skills, communication skills, accuracy, long hours and some travel.

The role reports to Head of West Private Bank Events.


Responsibilities include:
  • Understand business objectives and help develop an event strategy that supports business goals
  • Create high-touch events consistent with J.P. Morgan Private Bank brand standards
  • Maintain budgets and event calendar with strong emphasis on data management, list keeping, and operational efficiencies
  • Administrative responsibilities include invoice processing; name badge, menu and place card production; RSVP list management; host tracking; event material production and distribution
  • Liaise with other J.P. Morgan lines of business, in order to leverage and consolidate ideas, shared resources and cross sell event opportunities
  • Ability to secure event venues; contract audio visual companies and other associated vendors as required to execute programs
  • Onsite event staffing which may include registration desk management, distribution of materials, oversight of presentations/AV needs, speaker handling, and coordination with vendors
  • Pre-event tasks such as briefing templates, production of name badges, place cards, menu cards, printed materials; seating assignments for events; packing and shipping of event supplies
  • Post-event tasks such as final data management and event debrief documents
  • Participate in weekly regional team meetings, budget calls, and multiple banker meetings providing event updates


Skills required:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • A minimum of 6-8 years prior experience in event management related activities 
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office full time
  • Ability to work early morning and late evening events and ability to travel
  • Excellent organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly amongst a variety of personalities
  • Prior experience in financial services a plus
