Role:

J.P. Morgan Asset and Wealth Management Marketing is seeking an Editor/Copywriter to conceive, edit, write, and publish multi-channel financial market content for J.P. Morgan clients and prospects. This position is within the Creative Services team, an in-house agency that creates content and marketing materials for Asset Management and Wealth Management clients and prospects, including those of J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

 

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of financial markets and the financial services industry, will have experience in digital publishing, content marketing, and will have a comprehensive understanding of how branded content can be packaged and used across a full digital ecosystem. This person will have particular ability to craft sharp, pithy and appealing copy for print and digital advertisements and social media posts. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceiving, creating and editing content to make it channel-appropriate, presenting creative ideas for internal review, writing supporting promotional and social messaging, and packaging materials for publishing.

 

The Editor must be able to interact easily and readily with Marketing strategists and business thought leaders, as well as creative partners (including writers, designers, video and print editors, and digital production partners) to develop and deliver content across multiple client and public platforms.

 

This role will also be responsible for helping Creative Services improve the quality of our content and procedures with an emphasis on our digital content and channels. The Editor will help coach others in digital content creation. 

 

This position requires close collaboration with key partners, including:

  • Marketing Strategy
  • Portfolio Managers and Asset Class Leaders
  • Front Office (Bankers and Investment Specialists)
  • Legal/Compliance
Key responsibilities:
  • Conceive, write, edit and provide editorial oversight of timely, relevant financial content, supporting strategic ideas and themes and business goals, including
    • Digital content, such as articles, headlines, teasers, infographics, apps and social media
    • Supporting materials, such as technical articles, market commentaries, white papers
  • Initiate content ideas, collaborating with creative, marketing and internal business partners
  • Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, engaging, client-oriented and channel-appropriate manner
  • Ensure that our content consistently respects J.P. Morgan Private Bank editorial style and tone guidelines, across all channels
  • Work with all stakeholders to reach agreement on final copy, keeping partners informed of job status and delivering on deadline
  • Support all compliance feedback and get compliance approval before publishing
  • Stay current on global financial markets, regulatory and global economic activities
  • Perform regular marketing competitive analysis for continual content improvement
  • Perform other assignments and special projects, as required
  • Coordinate with project manager to manage workflow and identify production-only assignments
  • Take ownership of project deadlines

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience writing and editing digital editorial or content marketing for digital publishing formats
  • Experience in business writing and editing (finance and banking a plus)
  • Passion for understanding complex financial information on a sharp learning curve
  • Self-motivation to take initiative instead of waiting for instruction
  • Outstanding editorial skills (writing, editing and analysis)
  • Experience editing content for scope, flow, style and tone guidelines
  • Experience conceiving and writing content for other formats and asset types, including social media, video, audio, infographics, and live events
  • B.A./B.S. degree
    • journalism, English, creative writing a plus
    • Master’s degree a plus
  • Excellent skills and aptitude for organization, attention to detail, time management, personal communication and collaboration, multitasking and problem-solving
  • Flexibility to adapt within an evolving environment with evolving processes and goals
  • Experience with presenting ideas and leading creative discussions
  • Team player as a creative partner to art directors, editors, writers, strategists, marketers, and content delivery teams
  • Diplomacy for hearing and accepting input—and self-confidence for making professional recommendations that may differ from the routine
  • Global awareness and worldview (other languages or international travel a plus)
