What we're looking for in you
  • 10+ years of construction related experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a variety of marketing and/or sales functions
  • Ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations
  • Must demonstrate proficiency negotiation skills
  • Good working knowledge and language used in relevant market
  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Must be located near a major airport. This position may work remotely, but frequent travel (75%+) is required.


The purpose of your role as a VP of Business Development

Sales
  • Assist other sales/marketing personnel in the development of proposals, presentations, company brochures, advertising and promotional programs
  • Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up, either directly or through subordinate Sales Representatives
  • Develop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads, and other sources


Client Relationship
  • Establish and maintain effective contact with clients
  • Provide input and feedback on issues relevant to client programs, work in progress, marketing initiative and sales assistance

Business Development
  • Prepare and execute business development action plans for defined targets
  • Gather, research and analyze statistical data for relevant market segments including such information as market size, growth potential, market shares and entry problems
  • Development and implementation of the strategic marketing plan, department business plans, department

Team Development and Management
  • Direct subordinate sales and marketing personnel to ensure quality client contacts, client needs assessments, proposal development, and sales closures are secured
  • Train and develop team members, including performance management
