To enable great services we need leading-edge authentication and fraud risk management controls. We are building the team that has responsibility for the strategy for developing these controls, designing how they operate and delivering them successfully. Digital Authentication Product Manager – Customer Authentication


In the role of Digital Authentication – Product Manager, you will be responsible for setting the strategy, managing the product roadmap, defining business requirements, building customer propositions, and driving the delivery of JPMC’s digital authentication capabilities and customer experiences.  You will also build and manage relationships with stakeholders (e.g.: technology, user experience, operations, risk & control, etc.) across multiple JPMC lines of business and digital delivery channels.


The Role


You will be responsible for:

  • Creating simplified customer experiences for accessing Chase’s digital channels, with a focus on mobile native-apps

  • Developing the strategy and business case to achieve the vision of password-less authentication

  • Evaluating customer needs, marketplace evolution and readiness for adoption of industry authentication standards such as FIDO/W3C

  • Executing customer experience improvements by creating new product features, and by updating existing product features

  • Engaging with and effectively managing complex relationships across multiple stakeholders


Your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Creating points-of-view on the external marketplace, both from the point of view of what competitors are doing and what suppliers are offering

  • Researching, designing, and testing new customer authentication experiences in partnership with the Digital Customer Experience (dCE) team

  • Developing customer propositions and business cases for investments that enhance our authentication controls

  • Identifying critical gaps in the customer experience and the effectiveness of our authentication controls to create balanced recommendations for optimized enhancements

  • Incorporating industry best practices into our strategic plans and design thinking

  • Maturing and maintaining the product roadmap/pipeline

  • Coordinating with program managers to align the authentication roadmap with those of our cross-functional stakeholders

  • Establishing and monitoring success metrics/goals/benchmarks for product performance (and creating implementation paths for enhancements or remediation plans when necessary)

  • Functioning as the business relationship manager for Authentication products and features across multiple internal Chase lines of business

  • Engaging in Agile transformation activities for the Authentication Area Product Group




  • Performed a similar digital product development role within a financial institution, or vendor in the authentication, fraud, or cyber-security domain

  • At least 7 years’ experience designing and developing digital customer experiences for fraud and security controls OR for lifecycle management of tokenized credentials

  • A high degree of technological awareness (e.g. of developments in mobile banking apps and potential attack vectors)

  • Experience working in an Agile product development environment



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters/MBA degree preferred

  • Financial industry experience highly desired but not required

  • Talent for communicating a focused, consistent, and directive narrative across diverse audiences and stakeholders

  • Rigorous execution abilities with proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals

  • Robust aptitude for strategic thinking  – ability to formulate and test hypotheses, and to drive recommendations

  • Flexibility to work in an environment undergoing transformation to an Agile product development methodology
