We seek a creative problem-solver who is naturally curious with effective strategic and tactical business judgment.  You will be part of a team with a direct impact on revenue, customer experience, and risk management results for JP Morgan Chase.  As part of the CCB Recovery team, you'll help deliver payment solutions to up to 1 million Chase customers. 

 

You will own several business processes that support the Recovery team and our network of external vendors, notably strategic change, operational execution, and regulatory oversight.  For each process you will design, build, execute, and improve tools and procedures such as tracking and measurement tools, analysis of these measurements, and creation of scorecards to provide meaningful feedback to the business.  You will establish and maintain partnerships with external groups and escalate issues and concerns to management as needed. 

Day-to-day responsibilities include: 

  • Monitor day-to-day business results for your vendor in the three key domains:  Financial results, customer experience, and control environment
  • Demonstrate your judgment with effective written and verbal communication
  • Lead and/or participate in compliance related audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, oversight of audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation and follow up and verification of issue closure
  • Contribute to the audit process to risk assess and track regulatory applicability to drive audit coverage and clearly identify themes   Project management experience: responsibility for coordinating and facilitating delivery of project objectives, tracking progress and review of project tasks to make certain deadlines, managing implementation of project lifecycle
  • Contribute to a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation
  • Coordinate communications across the vendor operations centers
  • Process owner for all aspects of the vendor communication process including intake, assessment, outreach, follow-up, archiving, and process improvement
  • Consult with business partners to establish clear requirements and time frames
  • Design business processes to manage communication flow, document required information, and retain necessary evidence
  • Identify emerging trends, determine their validity, and propose solutions when appropriate

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • 3-5 years of business operations experience, working in a matrixed structure
  • Analytic mindset, with the ability to present information in a clear, creative, and persuasive manner, in written and verbal contexts
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and time management skills
  • Experience designing business processes
  • Demonstrated end-to-end responsibility for identification and mitigation of process gaps related to mandated policies and procedures
  • Experience managing within a collections environment preferred, especially in managing the performance of and relationship with collections vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze vendor performance data both in real time and on a cumulative basis, and make appropriate recommendations to ensure success
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact with other departments, units, managers and colleagues to achieve specific business results.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex situations to deliver successful results
  • Travel time required approximately 10%-20% of the time
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Thorough knowledge of post charge-off collection processes preferred
  • Programming skills/aptitude is desirable

 A background in banking and collections is not required, but strong communication skills, an understanding of business processes, and being a quick learner are essential. You should be able to work independently and in a team environment, balance creative problem-solving with concrete business needs, and maintain a sense of urgency and execute quickly and efficiently.
