Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

The objective of this project is to optimize a site selection process at Amgen to support key operation decisions. Effective management of site selection and other project business cases is critical.This is especially true given the continued forecasted growth in Amgen's product portfolio and international expansion.Drivers of these assessment requests are quite varied and include but are not limited to:manufacturing network strategy, addressing supply requirements, commercial or regional strategy, and operational excellence projects. The end-to-end process for managing these assessments require cross-functional collaboration at a global level with effort from multiple stakeholders centrally and locally. This optimized process will allow for more effective and streamlined OSPR resource management and synchronous communication of the constraints between the stakeholder functions.

Project Deliverables:
  • Optimize the project request entries and the quality of information received to effectively prioritize project in a timely manner.
  • Optimized OSPR resource/capacity model
  • Create one source of truth of data information
  • Streamline information gathering for the sites
  • Ensure sustainability of the optimize process


Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills (ideally, some experience with resource and capacity management, and portfolio planning)
  • Excellent conceptual problem solving/strategy skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, consistently deliver on-time, and high-quality results. Collaborates and communicates well with others
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed or team environment
