The Transportation Engineer will execute technical work assignments on transportation engineering projects individually or as part of a project team under the direction of a professional engineer. This position has the potential to eventually move from the New Britain Office to another G&A location.

This position has the potential to eventually move from the New Britain Office to another G&A location.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <img src="https://analytics.click2apply.net/v/g25znXh5d6VnSxaAIlAre"> <br/><br/><p> </p> <p><strong>Essential Functions & Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Perform capital improvement transportation designs</p> <p>Prepare State regulatory permit applications- Traffic Signal Permitting and Highway Occupancy Permitting</p> <p>Prepare bid plans and specifications</p> <p>Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies</p> <p>Perform site investigations and field reconnaissance</p> <p>Project coordination with Transportation staff and clients</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <p>Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university</p> <p>Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required. PE license is a plus.</p> <p>2+ years of experience in Transportation and/or Traffic Engineering field</p> <p>Experience in highway design</p> <p>Experience in traffic impact studies</p> <p>Experience in ADA curb ramp design</p> <p>Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory and permitting requirements</p> <p>Experience in PennDOT ePermitting for Highway Occupancy Permitting process</p> <p>Previous experience in assisting on working with municipalities, public and/or private sector design projects</p> <p>Software experience includes: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Synchro, and HCM</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</strong></p> <p>Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills</p> <p>Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports</p> <p>Ability to work independently and as part of a project team</p> <p>Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor</p> <p>Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions</p> <p>General knowledge of traffic engineering</p> <p>Possess experience with Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D)</p> <p>Experience with PennDOT ECMS document uploading/maneuvering and ePermitting and TSAMS process</p> <p>Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making</p> <p>Must possess a passion for excellence and a drive for continued development and growth</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p> <p>Occasional regional travel required</p> <p>Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>We will not sponsor applicants for work visas</p> <p> </p> <p>Gilmore & Associates, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p><p>PI119003881</p>
