Background

In this role, you will work closely with senior management of the Consumer Bank (“CB”) Transformation Management Office (“TMO”) team to help create, refine and operationalize key CB Strategic Initiatives that support the Consumer Bank CEO’s transformation vision.  You will partner with functional area teams across the CB to create and implement pilots, assess opportunities to improve metric reporting processes, identify actionable opportunities for operational improvements, design solutions, and quantify the bottom-line financial impact of recommendations.  You will also run discrete problem-solving work streams for which you will be responsible for delivering results against.  Activities may include developing work plans, analyzing various data sources, future state process design, developing financial business cases, creating effective and compelling presentations, syndicating recommendations across Consumer Banking and partnering with stakeholders to create and execute implementation plans.  This opportunity will provide a diverse set of experiences and exposure to give you both a broad and deep perspective into the workings of the Consumer Bank at JP Morgan Chase. 

 
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the strategic thinking and help develop an approach and structure to the analyses required

  • Provide support to leadership on initiative advisory and strategic priority management (e.g., preparing materials for, and participating in, problem solving sessions with delivery leads)

  • Take the lead on a small set of initiatives, focus on leading process meetings and providing support to the Executive Director for the broader set of CB Strategic Initiatives that underlie the CB transformation

  • Assist leadership in scoping and manage the team’s project portfolio and ensure alignment with the Executive Sponsor’s objectives

  • Effectively manage senior management relationships; facilitate effective communication; and work with the senior management team to assess needs, understand requirements and syndicate solutions

  • Synthesize insights on the landscape of best practices and benchmarking

  • Degree required: BA/BS degree required (advanced degree a plus)

  • Work experience: Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, an internal consulting role, or a role that has demonstrated problem solving and willingness to execute; experience within financial services or desire to learn about the financial services industry

  • Problem solving skills: Passionate problem solver and critical thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a superior ability to highly structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools, gain and synthesize insights, and develop solutions               

  • Solution-oriented: Manage ambiguity and drive answers to solutions

  • Project management skills: Proven ability to frame projects and establish required governance to move projects forward. S/he will have to engage appropriate resources from within the team, from the line areas specifically sponsoring the project, and potentially external consultants or other support areas with the Firm

  • Strategic implementation skills: Ability to apply strategic thinking/approaches into a process to ensure effective design and delivery

  • Communications skills: Strong written and oral executive-level communications skills

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Demonstrated track record of being a self-starter that seeks to break the status quo and initiate change
