As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

To enable great services we need leading-edge authentication and fraud risk management controls. We are building the team that has responsibility for the strategy for developing these controls, designing how they operate and delivering them successfully. You could be part of this high-performing team.

 

 Specifically the role requires you to:

  • Hands on management of a 10+ team, onshore and offshore
  • Develop solutions using Java8,Spring Boot, Cassandra, REST services, kafka, Big Data and Cloud Ready Micro Services
  • Teach technical feature teams about clean code, design principles, test driven development techniques, continuous integration and deployment tools and techniques
  • Help determine and socialize good practices across multiple facets – code, processes, tools and behaviors
  • Working hands-on with feature teams to guide them in writing efficient programs and effectively leveraging best practices
  • Contribute to code review sessions, design review sessions with feature teams
  • Translate business requirements into efficient software solutions. Contribute to automated testing strategy and implementation
  • Work with scrum masters, coaches and program management to understand impediments, help raise visibility and eliminate them
  • Resolve production issues by performing root cause analysis, coding immediate solutions, and ensuring smooth deployments
  • Work collaboratively in an Agile Feature team setup with team members located across different locations
  • Maintain Scrum Discipline, focus & deliver tasks in a timely manner as per Sprint plans
  • Build new skills in order to contribute as a multi-functional team member (potential areas for secondary skills: Cloud readiness, Security, Monitoring and measuring tools – jMeter/dynatrace/Splunk etc.)
  • Perform appraisals for team and manage performance - Objective setting and feedback
  • Work with application teams and Demand Management to ensure projects are properly prioritized and scheduled in the application's book of work
  • Monitor project and program progress by driving end to end infrastructure and application deliverables, regularly tracking the budget, and managing issue resolution and risk mitigation as necessary

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

 

* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

* Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

* Advanced knowledge of architecture, design across all systems

* Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages Java / JEE skills, Spring framework

* Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices 

* Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

* Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture 

Hands on people manager with a proven track record managing 10+ team members across different locations (minimum 2 different locations) 


  • Strong Java/JEE skills – Expertise in Spring framework (newer versions preferred)
  • Experience in using Cassandra ODS and Kafka
  • JavaScript frameworks - AngularJS/Javascript/jQuery, Bootstrap is nice to have
  • Having hands on JMS experience  (QPID, MQ, UM, etc.)
  • Experience in building applications with microservices patterns and being cloud ready
  • Experience with Test driven development, Continuous Integration and Deployment practices and tools (Jenkins or equivalent, Git-Stash, developer efficiency tools)
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in leveraging design and architecture principles to implement business requirements
  • Experience with coaching and leading highly technical teams
  • Ability to recommend technical improvements and drive implementation in the organization
  • Strong database stored procedure experience (SQL/PL), ability to write and refactor complex SQL
