What you'll do

This role is part of our UK aircraft stores/supply chain team supporting the Technical Operations division. 


Reporting to the Regional Supply Manager, you’ll provide front-line leadership to a small team of Materials Logistics Specialists in a fast paced airport environment to ensure a safe and reliable operation.


In addition to day to day Stores management, the varied role also involves logistics, import/export, and assisting European AA stations and other customers with AOG assistance. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure employees are provided with operational leadership and their tasks are communicated effectively throughout the day
  • Maintain the aircraft parts stockroom in accordance with strict Customs/FAA controls
  • Import/export logistics – airwaybill creation, commercial invoices, customs declarations and clearance
  • Handling of hazardous/high value shipments (correct packaging, identifying Dangerous Goods for transport in accordance with IATA regulations).
  • Process all documentation and transactions, both manually and in inventory systems
  • Ad-hoc commercial purchasing decisions when required
  • Liaise/organise with other airlines and stations in sourcing and transporting emergency aircraft parts (AOG)
  • Assistance at other European locations when required
  • Inventory stocktaking, cycle counts, identifying and control of shelf life items
  • Recognise and adapt to changes in procedures and inventory control systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, manuals and audit requirements
  • Complete administration duties and daily/monthly reports
  • Coordinate daily work schedule (ensuring appropriate shift coverage)
  • Enforce compliance with employee uniform/dress/grooming standards
  • Ensure required employee training is completed and reported as required


  • To be responsible for the safety of themselves and others by complying with safety directives and adopting safe work methods
  • Ad-hoc travel when required, occasionally at short notice
  • To comply with the AA Rules of Conduct Europe & Pacific and work within the context of all company’s policies & procedures
  • To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role and in accordance with the company’s uniform/dress policy
  • To be aware of and sensitive to differences and work in a way consistent with the principles of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
  • To maintain and respect confidentiality at all times and to ensure adherence to the company’s Non- Disclosure & Confidentiality Policy
  • To actively participate in regular coaching & counselling meetings, performance reviews and development meetings
  • To undertake appropriate training as agreed with their manager and to take responsibility for self-development

Person Specification


  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Physically fit with good color vision to perform manual stock handling and movement
  • Good working knowledge of AA inventory systems or equivalent aerospace parts management systems (e.g. SAP, AMOS)
  • Excellent communicator & effective listener
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts policies, procedures and standards
  • Ability to adapt and take control in unforeseen circumstances, such as AOG situations
  • Be able to select, motivate and evaluate team members
  • Self-motivated and open to development
  • Willing and able to work in a shift environment including weekends and bank holidays when required
  • Willing and able to travel according to business needs when required
  • Ability to read, understand, explain, and enforce Company and Governmental policies, procedures and regulations
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must be willing to assume additional responsibility in a temporary position when required
  • Full UK Driving licence
