This job is a member of the Digital User Experience (UX) Team within the Digital Customer Experience Division.  This role is responsible for creating and driving the global content strategy and execution for American’s global and regional markets to deliver best in class localization and translations delivered through all digital channels (web, kiosk, app), print, consumer and B2B marketing touchpoints.

What you'll do
  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of digital content editors to master our digital brand standards, best practices and localization for all content on aa.com
  • Perform management functions and tasks in relation to direct reports
  • Edit pages in a Content Management System (CMS) using pre-defined templates
  • Lead content projects on our global sites using automated translation tools
  • Review translation work for accuracy, completeness and ensures it meets brand tone and voice and is appropriate for all global markets
  • Collaborate with internal/international partners to meet the needs of the business
  • Create and maintain marketing placements on international sites
  • Continuously monitor aa.com for outdated content and broken links
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and late nights, for publishing alerts resulting from weather delays/cancellations or other operational issues
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Information Systems, Digital Communications; or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of coaching and mentoring others and performing management related functions in relation to direct reports
  • 3 years of working within a CMS and editing/writing concise, web/mobile-friendly copy for a major global brand and high traffic/transactional website
  • Travel industry experience or general knowledge of the airline industry

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years of working within a CMS and editing/writing/translating concise, web/mobile-friendly copy
  • 5 years of managing, coaching and mentoring a geographically dispersed team
  • Project management experience within a marketing or digital environment

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Working knowledge of industry standard content localization tools
  • Knowledge of HTML coding and other technical expertise to troubleshoot and correct issues that affect booking or other actions that may impact customer experience on American's branded sites
  • ­Ability to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously
  • Flexibility – adapt to change quickly and without hesitation
  • Working knowledge of content strategy required
  • Ability to fluently speak, read and write Spanish preferred
  • Ability to travel
