  • The Tax Planning Manager will assist the regional Tax Planning Directors with respect to the U.S. tax implications of planning within their respective regions. This position reports to the Tax Director of Tax Planning for the U.S. region, who has 25 years of tax experience.
  • The Tax Planning Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing domestic and international income tax planning opportunities and advising business partners on various issues and transactions.
  • Typical areas of corporate income tax planning involve (i) foreign tax credits, (ii) internal domestic and foreign restructurings, (iii) cash repatriation, (iv) structuring, valuation, due diligence, negotiation and integration with respect to mergers, acquisitions, sales, spin-outs, and other similar transactions, (v) licensing, collaborations and other business development deals, (vi) venture capital investment, (vii) treasury debt financings and hedging transactions, (viii) state & local tax matters, (ix) tax incentive agreements (x) corporate tax implications of compensation arrangements, (xi) withholding and FATCA, (xii) global talent mobility, and (xii) private foundation matters.


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 2 years of Tax experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Tax experience
OR
Associate degree and 10 years of Tax experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Tax experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of experience in public accounting with a Big Four Accounting Firm, major law firm and/or tax department of a multinational corporation
  • CPA/MBT, or JD/LLM with undergraduate or other training in accounting
  • Excellent Excel modeling skills
  • Outstanding legal research & writing skills, strong power point presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas at the right level
  • Strong working knowledge of the U.S. taxation of international transactions, including the recently-enacted U.S. tax reform provisions, such as GILTI, FDII, BEAT, 163(j), 965, etc.
  • Exposure to domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, licensing and collaboration transactions
  • Understanding of basic transfer pricing principals
  • Proven ability to think creatively, innovatively and "connect-the-dots"
  • Highly responsive to the needs of business clients
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in and lead teams
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity
