About The Job

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Information Technology Division. This job is a member of the HRIT Application Support and Development team which is part of the People Technology Department. The Systems Analyst role will work closely with our project managers, product owners, business leaders, and development team members to deliver application support and business automation solutions for departments within American Airlines. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications, as well as customization and integration of 3rd party software. Key technologies include SuccessFactors HCM suite of applications (Employee Central, Recruiting Management, Onboarding, PM/GM, and Compensation), Dell Boomi Atmosphere, SAP Cloud Platform, database technologies, and network connectivity standards.


Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Provides expertise in implementation planning, fit analysis, configuration, testing, rollout and post-implementation support of SuccessFactors HCM (Employee Central and Talent)
  • Supports, maintains, and administers deployed solutions
  • Analyzes and identifies integration impacts to existing/new business processes
  • Implements and presents system/integration functionality to technical and non-technical audiences in a precise and clear manner
  • Prepares and documents requirements, testing, and other related solution artifacts according to enterprise standards
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of SuccessFactors product-suite and provides impact analysts for existing integrations
  • Defines and implements workaround processes, corrective action, communication and system cleanup activities
  • Formulates and executes positive and negative unit test plans and assist in developing system regression and performance test plans for enhancements or new releases in the various test and productive environments

  • Assists with preparation of training materials for new implementations affecting single or multiple business units
  • Displays detailed knowledge of Recruiting and Onboarding data/functionality in order to design and implement innovative integrations
  • Tracks and prioritizes work through project management tools such as Planview and Rally
  • Creates functional specifications and technical design to meet defined business needs
  • Analyzes large subsets of data to identify trends

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of SuccessFactors HCM suite experience
  • 3 years of experience defining, analyzing, a documenting user requirements
  • 3 years of experience providing systems and production support tasks in a professional environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of SuccessFactors HCM suite experience
  • Airline Industry experience
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Proven ability to translate proposed business processes into correct SAP configuration
  • Ability to perform Dell Boomi tasks such as, halting interface schedules, manually triggering processes and editing process properties
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors middleware including Boomi, Hana Cloud Integrations, SuccessFactors integration center
