GT&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Discovery’s products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Discovery’s growing pay-TV, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms.

The Role
The Systems Analyst, Content Solutions is a member of Discovery Global Technology & Operations (GT&O) group, with a focus on media operations and content supply chain support. This role is in the Knoxville, TN office. The Content Solutions team finds and builds new technology solutions that allow Discovery to adapt in a rapidly changing media industry. As part of that group, you will work with business users to ensure smooth operations of their business processes to make content processes and systems more automated, efficient, and effective. The successful candidate is an experienced analyst who can be a liaison between software users and development teams that will meet Discovery’s present and future needs in a changing industry. He/she is an effective communicator who can clearly express complex ideas both verbally and in writing. He/she is a capable team player who develops and maintains effective partnerships with other groups both inside and outside of GT&O and Discovery.



Responsibilities

1. Gather and maintain business requirements with appropriate documentation (for example, a story backlog and acceptance criteria for an agile project).
2. Working with a cross functional team and business owner to produce high quality software by participating in feature discussions and test driven development
3. Making recommendations on solutions that meet users’ needs while minimizing costs
4. Creating and maintaining system and user documentation
5. Ensuring software quality during design, development, and testing
6. Analyzing data to support system integrations, data quality efforts, and resolving production issues
7. Participating in system design and, in particular, user interface design
8. Facilitating discussions and design sessions
9. Contributing to standards development for documentation and assisting with peer reviews to improve quality and consistency across projects
10. Assisting in task planning, estimation, and scheduling



Qualifications

* Excellent communication skills for discussions, presentations, and documentation. Examples of slide decks and documentation are welcome.
* Exceptional interviewing, probing, and influencing skills
* Creative and innovative thinker
* Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Experience in digital asset management preferred
* Knowledge and experience with agile scrum methodology
* Moderate skill with Structured Query Language (SQL) is required

* Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in Business or Information Technology degree desired
* 3 or more years of related experience

* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
