Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager, Global Product Planner will manage demand and supply planning for Commercial and Late Stage Pipeline products across Amgen's supply network through facilitation with Regional, Site and External Supply Chain. The role is responsible for creating, managing and maintaining feasible supply plans in Amgen's Supply Chain planning systems.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Balancing demand and supply requirements against lifecycle management assumptions,
  • Initiating, tracking and driving master data workflows for creation of new product structures and material numbers
  • Driving end to end supply plan alignment across all key product material stages (drug substance, drug product, finished goods).


Product Supply Lifecycle management activities to include:
  • Support new product introduction, technical transfers, product variation regulatory commitments, and risk management initiatives while ensuring integration and alignment of regional and global supply.
  • Collaborate with Global Network Planning, Global Supply Chain Leads, Regional Supply Chain, Site Supply Chain and External Planning and Delivery colleagues to ensure supply plan alignment.
  • Consolidate and facilitate the management of key inventory system requirements such as Safety Stock Targets, GR Times, Lot Sizes, Master data critical planning fields, and allocation of inventory across the network.
  • Monitor key product specific global supply chain metrics and KPIs to proactively look for opportunities for improvement and/or optimization.
  • Conducts scenario analyses to evaluate implications of different courses of action


Business Process management activities to include:
  • Responsibility for quarterly GSC deliverables to Finance, Tax and Treasury including data analysis and summary reporting.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Leads and Variation Leads to collect, organize, summarize and archive supporting documentation and plan assumptions.
  • Identify and drive process improvements using OE tools and methodologies


The position requires exceptional data and time management skill, cross functional facilitation, and effective communication skills. This position requires developing effective relationships with partners across the Global, Regional, and Internal and External Manufacturing Site supply chain.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Supply Chain or Pharma/Biotech experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Supply Chain or Pharma/Biotech experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of end to end supply chain, quality systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with integrated advanced ERP planning systems (SAP / RapidResponse)
  • Significant experience with using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Sharepoint, Tableau, Smartsheet
  • Experience in working in an international environment, ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and different cultures in a large matrix organization
  • Strong technical, data analytics, negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Perseverance, problem solving skill, and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and priorities simultaneously in a fluid environment under time constraints with sound judgement
  • Demonstrated analytical and structured process improvement experience (Lean Six Sigma)
  • APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP)
