About The Job

This job is a member of the Line Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for supervising operations towards its primary objectives by performing duties personally or through subordinates.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Supervises the aircraft maintenance workload, resources, and activities for an assigned work group or several work groups at terminal and/or hangar operations at line or base maintenance stations in which a manner as to ensure continuing safety, compliance, dependability, reliability and financial performance, with fair and harmonious relationships within assigned work group(s), the operations management team, TWU, internal customers, vendors, FAA, and all non-American Airlines (AA) business contacts
  • Supervises, administers, and coordinates the activities of their assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the Shift Manager and other Senior Leadership and the airline

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2 years experience as a Crew Chief, Tech Crew Chief or other related supervisory or leadership jobs
  • 5 years verifiable hands-on experience spent in the repair, maintenance, overhaul or manufacture of aircraft with a gross weight in excess of 70,000 lbs. (including fuel) or engines with 15,000 lbs., or more of thrust
  • Proven successful track record and experience with process improvement in maintenance and/or production environments

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate and/or Bachelors degree in related field6 months experience in jobs requiring budget understanding, resource forecasting and management, and workload planning in maintenance environments
  • A&P License
  • Knowledge of functional area
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to supervise management, non-management and contract labor work groups
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities

Return for our investors: Describe a recent decision you had to make that had important effects on your business or the people involved. What did you consider? How did you balance the pressures of timeliness and making the right decision?
