The Private Bank Mortgage Center provides end to end mortgage origination in all 50 states for Private Banking clients with unique needs.  Our loans are generally complex transactions due to the financial diversity and sophistication of the client base.  Our clients expect the highest levels of quality service throughout the process, resulting in an exceptional client experience.


The Associate/VP, Mortgage Decision Specialist will be an integral part of the PB Mortgage Center Operations team and will act as a conduit between Operations and Technology teams to ensure optimal delivery of technology and process optimization solutions.  The ideal candidate will drive improvements from concept through implementation, with a strong ability to understand business needs and synthesize these into formalized user stories that detail data requirements and business rules.  Further, this person will be responsible for programing a business maintained rules engine to manage automated underwriting rules for the Mortgage Product. 

  

Primary Responsibilities

  •  Assists efforts to attain product vision and objectives, translating into a backlog of features and user stories
  • Assists in the management and prioritization of backlogs, collaborating and representing Business Stakeholders in developing impactful product features
  • Facilitate and encourage the necessary conversations between the Business and Technology to determine the what and the how of the product features
  • Translates business requirements and user stories into data requirements and business rules
  • Leverages user stories to design, develop and maintain all rule sets within a business managed rules engine
  • Maintains, understands, and optimizes how data flows to and from the decision system, reducing the dependency on technology to make changes
  • Understands how to leverage AI and Machine Learning within the context of a business rule engine
  • Conducts code reviews with team ensuring best practices are followed throughout the SDLC
  • Develop partnership relationships with Other Technical and Operational Teams and maintain working rapport with others, leveraging these relationships to meet common project milestone/goal


Minimum Qualifications

  • Self-starter with the ability to solve problems creatively and deliver results while working in a dynamic, collaborative, and challenging environment
  • Familiarity with coding languages
  • Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate with multiple points of contact in order to achieve results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate and sell a vision
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels, including the executive presence to interact with and influence Senior Management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools with particular skill with Excel, PowerPoint and VISIO.
  • BS/BA or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in decision systems, business rule engines, or similar
  • Experience with the Mortgage industry
  • 2+ years of experience working within agile project teams, preferably as a Product Owner
  • SAFe certified
