As our site continues to evolve, we are seeking a Site Lead, Strategic Planning & Operations Manager to join the leadership team to enable us to continue our mission to serve patients.

This critical Director role presents an opportunity to provide both strategic and business operations support to the AMA site while also being responsible for planning and operations for the global Drug Substance Technology organization. Covering a range of responsibilities including but not limited to active site leadership, internal and external communications and external outreach, staff engagement, and site budget management. You will have a share of strategic planning and focus, tactical actions and execution, and direct access and visibility to leadership to enable us to achieve the overall site mission and goals. In addition to the AMA site responsibilities, this Director will be the Strategic Planning & Operations Leader for a global Drug Substance Technology organization. The role will work with the organization to manage the DST resource forecast and capacity management process. This will include development and refinement of resource models, management of short and long-term resource forecasts, recommend resource allocations based upon future demand as well as analyzing key operational data to support trade-off and portfolio decisions. This position is responsible to stay informed of best practices, technologies, tools and provide innovative, impactful ideas to optimize processes to support the organization's growth strategies. The role may also track and analyze data on budgets, cycle times and activity analysis and develop organizational modeling parameters to enable efficient decision making and planning. The role will track and follow through on strategic and business actions, conduct business analysis projects, including developing real-time visual management tools as part of our continual improvement efforts. This individual will report to the VP/Site Head of the DST function in Process Development.

Responsibilities Include:

•Own and drive sophisticated data analysis initiatives that will generate impactful and actionable insights, e.g. resource and portfolio planning, provide strategic input based on data

•Lead advanced descriptive and inferential analyses of data to identify trends and opportunities, e.g. scenario analysis and planning

•Develop and maintain predictive models using data mining and statistical methods to provide insights

•Provide executive level presentations, operating reviews, all staff communication that clearly summarize results and implications/recommendations to key stakeholders to inform decision making

•Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables

•Own, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders; proactively seek buy-in and provide on-going collaboration and consultation to inform how best to address business needs

•Drive strategy making and decision making in all areas of focus

Business Operations & Communications for AMA site and DST:

Plan and facilitate site-wide leadership team meetings, committees, and workshops, serving to provide site/staff perspective on issues relating to facilities, operations, safety, engagement, as well as to provide leadership and information to team on site activities focused on external eminence. Work closely with internal and external departments such as Corporate Affairs, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities, and HR.

Develop and execute internal and external communications strategy, in collaboration with Corporate Affairs, to represent the Site's vision, goals and business imperatives that drive staff engagement, awareness and talent retention.

Plan and prepare site-wide all-staff meetings, communications, and connectivity events in collaboration with Corporate Affairs.

Develop and manage timely, strategic communications utilizing internal communications vehicles (company intranet, newsletter(s), announcements, staff services, calendar and site comms channels such as digital monitors, posters).

Manage tour opportunities with academia, elected officials, opinion leaders and Amgen leadership, ensuring appropriate messaging, content and approach.

Plan and facilitate site business performance reviews for executive leadership visits.

Identify and drive process improvements at the site and general issue resolution.

Internal / Staff Engagement for AMA and DST:

Partner with HR to help continuously develop site culture and foster employee engagement.

Provide oversight for the planning/execution of both internal and external events (staff engagement events, annual scientific off-site, staff appreciation opportunities).

Ensure ongoing integration and collaboration across the site and within Amgen.

Serve as point-of-contact for the management of day-to-day site operations at AMA.

External Engagement / Outreach for AMA and DST:

Actively lead Amgen Massachusetts' External Outreach Committee, driving initiatives that increase Amgen's visibility in the local community to enhance Amgen's scientific reputation, capture external innovation, and attract/retain talent.

AMA Site Budget Management:

Forecast and manage the Site Budget, working closely with the HR Site Lead, Finance, and the AMA Site Head to ensure site needs are being met.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of project management and/or business/operations experience

OR

Master's degree and 7 years of project management and/or business/operations experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 9 years of project management and/or business/operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in business, engineering or life sciences, 8+ years directly relevant experience

Biology and/or biotechnology experience

Project management experience with significant interaction with internal and external stakeholdersr

Strong communication skills (both written and presentation) and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate at all levels of the organization including executive leadership

Demonstrated ability to be creative and think outside the box; a strong strategic thinker

Experience working with and/or leading cross functional teams that required strong influencing skills

Ability to build relationships and influence, and drive organizational engagement

Strong ability to ensure connectivity across multiple functions within a site and with the enterprise

Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing and fast-moving environment that challenges the status quo of healthcare
