We have world-class cross-functional staff across the globe including sales and marketing, regional medical liaisons, oncology nurse specialists and customer account teams to ensure our discoveries go from bench to bedside. The Strategic Planning and Operations Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Data and Analytics (cDNA) organization's activities. The remit of the position includes both Global and US responsibilities in cDNA's execution of Marketing Research, Secondary Analytics, Competitive Intelligence, Forecasting, Data Sciences and Data Acquisition. The Senior Manager will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and address key issues related to commercial market research and analytics. This includes managing the standards, procedures, processes and education of regulations, safety, privacy and compliance responsibilities within the group.This role's primary focus is to ensure all cDNA personnel understand and adhere to compliance related activities, that all operations comply to the regulations, and to support all compliance related discussions globally. In addition, this individual will support the Strategic Planning, Operations, and Excellence group in delivering efficient operations, performance, portfolio management and personnel development.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide Global and US support to the Commercial Data and Analytics organization
  • Partner closely with Compliance, Regulatory, Safety and Privacy teams to ensure that market research and analytics staff are aware and compliant with necessary requirements
  • Own and administer the market research tracking tool, Research Reporter, and remediate any concerns
  • Thoroughly understand, troubleshoot and communicate to Global Business Insights team any issues related to successful and timely review and approval of market research materials by internal teams
  • Provide input and expertise on development of new or regional SOPs related to conducting market research at Amgen
  • Develop and deliver necessary training for Global and US market research teams to ensure that staff are following requisite SOPs and are aware of local guidelines
  • Representative team member for various workstreams impacting market research (e.g. Anticorruption, MAC, Antibribery, Patient Centricity, etc.)
  • Partner with Privacy and Legal on development or refinement of guidance related to global privacy issues that may impact market research
  • Assist in appropriately assessing the level of risk and Legal review required for market research, training and competitive intelligence activities
  • Act as the worldwide audit responsible person
  • Provide Compliance workflow oversight and corrective action ownership


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of market research, commercial or compliance experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of market research, commercial and/or compliance experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of market research, commercial and/or compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Good understanding of biopharmaceutical market research, commercial and compliance activities
  • Demonstrated exceptional strategic / critical thinking abilities and business acumen
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
  • Experience in developing, owning and improving processes
  • Developed problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, develop tactical plans and execute
  • Project management, agile teams and corrective action experience
  • Track record of developing and delivering training to a large group of individuals
  • Proven experience as a member and leader of a high performing team
  • History of championing initiatives and leading through change
  • Eager to learn new skills and contribute to team's success
