Amgen is seeking a Sr Associate Project Management to manage operational requirements and change initiatives for the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) team as well as support Sourcing Team related projects and transformation initiatives . The Associate will report to the Director Strategic Sourcing at our corporate headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, California.

Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) is a critical function at Amgen focused on driving value and productivity across the enterprise. The Sr Associate Project Manager will be responsible for helping execute team activities across Commercial, G&A, R&D and Amgen Operations'/Manufacturing functions.

Key responsibilities of the position include the following:
  • Provide planning, logistical support, and project management in support of our Sourcing Team Executives and broader transformation projects (e.g., Source to Pay Digital Transformation)
  • Drive root cause analysis initiatives to understand existing pain points with various systems, reporting and processes to help identify opportunities for improvement and deliver solutions
  • Partner with Director of Strategic Sourcing to drive improvement programs for global team
  • Drive improved analytics on our Sourcing process, developing reports and metrics to help manage the process
  • Manage operational metrics and analytics for the team and showcase improvements
  • Supports Team Leads meetings, and manages actions and decisions from those sessions
  • Identify and drive new continuous improvement opportunities for SE team to deliver value and productivity


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree
OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Sourcing, Management Consulting or Project Management experience
OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Sourcing, Management Consulting or Project Management experience
OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Sourcing, Management Consulting or Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Combination of: management consulting, and/or corporate procurement or sourcing background
  • Strong analysis experience, developing metrics, reports, and analytical models
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and present insights based on the needs of the audience
  • Goal oriented and results driven
  • Ability to lead and manage tasks from concept to completion
  • Quick learner, proactive, takes initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and effectively present information
