  • Responsible for overall Infrastructure design, balancing optimization of application access with resource use factors.
What you'll do
  • Support customer technology infrastructure projects and integration architecture
  • Review project requests describing user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
  • Approve, schedules, plans and supervises the installation and testing of new products and improvements to current systems
  • Define how technology and applications should be structured to align with business plans
  • Work closely with Application Architects to determine the most effective designs
  • Evaluate modern and emerging technologies to identify the impact on the business
  • Provide information needed to assess the risk of deployment of business-critical application: installation and configuration readiness, performance and scalability evaluation, stability and durability evaluation, and best practices procedures
  • Assess the processes that will be used to operate, support and maintain the Enterprise implementation(s)
  • Refine the deployment process and architecture so that it will easily scale to fit into an enterprise scope
  • Assist in determining overall hardware and software configuration along with capacity projections and planning for future support of growing operations
  • Evaluate changing platform requirements or other advancements in the distributed computing model to determine effects on network
What you'll do (cont.)
  • Provide expertise during adoption of cloud technology platforms (IaaS, PaaS)
  • Assist in determining Service Level Agreements (SLA's), for immediate needs/deployments, and enterprise SLA's to support ongoing operations, if any
  • Develop performance, scalability, and durability evaluations and monitoring for load testing and real time
  • Anticipate and act upon issues that arise, provide alternative approaches, optimal solution and continuously improving performance of applications
  • Create and promotes patterns/techniques to foster DevOps adoption
  • Drive strategic technological innovation, demonstrating breadth/depth of knowledge in all things related to complex, matrixed telecomm and networks in support of the enterprise
  • Transform the organization by leveraging and enabling automation within the corporate infrastructure, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of diverse technology experience required

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 10+ years of diverse technology experience
  • Expert knowledge in SIP, VoIP, VTC and unified communications platforms
  • Expert knowledge in network route switch
  • Expert knowledge in SD-WAN technologies
  • Experience in automation and programing
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive feedback
  • Experience in designing, implementing and tuning highly available solutions for VoIP, SIP, VTC, Load Balancing, Unified Communications, Cloud Connectivity, SDN/SD-WAN in an integrated Data and Voice network environment
  • Must be able to document solutions for various level of audiences Education/Experience and be capable of communicating technical topics across a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience with various cloud platforms like IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and leveraging mediums i.e. Express Route, VPC, Direct Connect, Transit VPC
  • Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships with stakeholders, adapt to unexpected events, and provide a sense-of-urgency to get to resolutions using best practices
  • Ability to architect, design and deploy Software Defined Infrastructure around technologies such as Palo Alto/Cisco NAC/Infoblox DDI/Cisco Route/Switch and Wi-Fi
  • Ability to see the “big picture” across areas/platforms i.e. private and public hosted infrastructure and services, security, telecommunications, enterprise Wi-Fi, end user experience, and training/education
  • Ability fully understand large global Platform Engineering functions (Converged Data Services, Network, Security, Voice integration, Enterprise WiFi network integration, SDLC tools & processes and distribution/automation platforms)
