The Health Economics & Reimbursement (HE&R) Analyst of Operations supports key initiatives related to medical coding, coverage, payment, and driving market access across key medical device therapies for Abbott. The HE&R Analyst will work with HE&R management to provide supporting research, due diligence, and reimbursement deliverables that assist with customer reimbursement education, dossier development, economic modeling and tool development. Additionally, the position requires a thorough understanding of data manipulation and analytics via scripting languages, software development and industry standard databases languages.

Job Duties: Works with a team of health economics and reimbursement professionals to support and enable the sale and use of Abbott therapy solutions by healthcare providers primarily within the US.

  • Collects, manipulates and analyzes data relating to current health economics and medical insurance compensation and how they impact the Abbott product portfolio.
  • Develops models, apps and educational content to support economic and reimbursement related activities used in clinical and economic settings.
  • Runs reports, creates summaries of data and distributes information proactively on a regular basis as well as when requested.
  • Participates in assigned cross-departmental meetings and conference calls for providing input and guidance regarding market dynamics and issues needing focus, attention and action.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with internal Abbott stakeholders including but not limited to, Marketing, Sales Operations, Corporate and National Accounts, and Sales divisions.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    General Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Have advanced scripting and data analytics skills with R or equivalent such as Python. Software development experience highly preferred.
    • Have advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel Pivot tables, and PowerPoint
    • Preferred basic understanding of medical device procedure and diagnostic coding  
    • Can understand complex and technical information.
    • Have experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
    • Have strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner.
    • Have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
    • Have strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
    • Can work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
    • Can work within a diverse cross-functional team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Can work, direct, and take direction with all levels of management.
    • Can perform under pressure and in a very dynamic environment.
