About The Job

The Specialist/Senior Specialist, Reporting & Budgeting is a role within the Enterprise Learning team at American Airlines. This individual works in close partnership with team members across the Talent Strategy & People Development team and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and consistent reporting on key metrics and department budget performance. This role serves as an integrator of information from across the team to be used in reporting to senior leadership both within the team and external teams, and will work closely with teams from Finance, People Analytics, and others as needed. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Learning and will be responsible for developing collaborative working relationships across the team and help report on impact and results. Candidates who have the passion and experiences in reporting, budget management, results orientation, and data visualization will enjoy the work and be successful in this role.

 

Specifically you’ll do the following:

  • Establish strong collaborative working relationships to source data and metrics to develop regular reporting cadence on unit operational performance and financial performance
  • Support team across the department to achieve consistency, accuracy, and quality in reporting
  • Identify, assess, design, and develop reporting solutions and presentations for senior leadership
  • Identify, track, and analyze metrics to measure organizational effectiveness solutions for their business unit teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent required
  • Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint, & Word skills
  • Worked in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, development-focused environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Five years of reporting, budgeting, data analysis or related experience preferred
  • Experience managing large projects coordinating multiple stakeholders preferred; having this experience at American Airlines is preferred
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated reporting and data analysis ability
  • Quickly grasp the nature of business unit’s system, identify key drivers and metrics
  • Strong ability to build, develop, and maintain key relationships/partnerships
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills
  • Comfortable in presenting ideas in clear, succinct, and easy-to-follow reports
  • Strong project management skills: ability to take the initiative anticipating and handling problems or incidents before they become major issues
  • Manage multiple requests with competing deadlines; handle multiple tasks and demands in a fast-paced work environment
  • Help business leaders think about and determine how to best measure their performance
  • Comfortable working in a team-based environment; collaborates with diverse individuals and groups; consistently displays a readiness and willingness to share knowledge; is open to different perspectives and to building consensus
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and implementation focused
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
