Amgen is seeking a Senior SAP Basis Administrator to join Global ERP team based at Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. The Senior SAP Basis Administrator will report to the Specialist IS Architect. This role includes technical leadership, oversight to global teams, project management and requires close teamwork and engagement with Technical Architects, AMS support teams and various IS and business process/project teams to efficiently deliver Amgen's Global ERP solutions in a 24X7 regulated environment. Additionally, this person should enjoy working within multi-functional teams from different business functions and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture and time zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development of detailed strategy and technology roadmaps for SAP technical platform and components which includes migration from on-premise solutions to cloud solutions
  • Execute strategies and standard methodologies for the configuration, development, maintenance and support of the SAP technical environment
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to managed service provider (MSP) teams and serve as technical support for complex problem resolution providing support coordination
  • Collaborate with Technical SAP Project Leads, MSP teams and SAP on the design, build and improvement of SAP eco-system and infrastructure including the rollout of SAP Enhancement packs and System upgrades
  • Lead installation, configuration and upgrades of SAP HA (clustered) systems, including Solution Manager, NetWeaver Solutions, Business Suite Solutions, HANA technologies and 3rd-party tools deployed on-premise and in cloud environments
  • Lead and participate in business continuity activities (e.g. disaster recovery) to ensure it meets the needs of the business
  • Responsible for developing and improving system copy procedures using TDMS, LaMA, and other backup and restore methodologies, pre and post-system refresh steps
  • Responsible for supporting Solution Manager, including monitoring, ChaRM, CCM and other OCC relevant functionality
  • Knowledge with cybersecurity solutions to keep Global ERP systems safe and secure
  • Support regulatory and compliance audits
  • Possess the ability to analyze situations and provide problem resolution in a collaborative way


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis Architecture and Administration experience in SAP ECC, BW, GTS, PO, GRC, GTS, ATC, Web dispatcher, Gateway, Solution Manager, LaMA, Cronacle, Knoa, and Content Server
  • 3 plus years of HANA and MaxDB Database administration technical skills in a large complex enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience in managing SAP system in a clustered (e.g. SIOS or Pacemaker) environment
  • Understanding of the overall SAP enterprise system landscape, transport management, and performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge in SAP PO capabilities - configuration, administration, and monitoring
  • Experience in configuration / development / support of SAP mobile / desktop applications using SAP UI5, Fiori, OData services and SAP BC
  • Working knowledge in managing and administering SAP systems in validated (GxP) environments
  • Good interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills
