Job Summary

This role will support Amgen's Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization as part of the Sourcing & Contracting Operations team. The Sourcing Business Systems Manager is responsible for implementing, overseeing and improving the use of technology and tools that supports GSS. This position partners with the Sourcing Governance Manager, Procure to Pay process owners, Global Strategic Sourcing, Information Systems, and other cross-functional teams to continuously solicit feedback and implement changes and improvements. This position will report to the Sr. Manager Sourcing & Contract Operations based at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as key subject matter expert for core sourcing and contracting systems and tools and has strong knowledge of ancillary systems and integration points; understand systems/tools process and usage
  • Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing, Procure to Pay and other leaders to understand the requirements and priorities for the sourcing and contracting systems and tools; understands the sourcing and contracting processes
  • Proactively seeks and actions feedback from stakeholders on the systems/tools
  • Provide global training, including ongoing support and guidance, for areas of responsibility
  • Establish proper system access for users of the GSS systems/tools
  • Own and coordinate the process for adding suppliers into the system for sourcing events
  • Build and maintain GSS SharePoint sites and other communication, tracking and/or prioritization tools
  • Manage relationships with Information Systems, ensuring expected service levels are met
  • Create and manage tickets for GSS systems/tools, including prioritizing and driving resolution with the appropriate Information Systems team
  • Create business requirements and/or support the creation of business requirements documents for systems/tool changes
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed to support the implementation of system changes
  • Actively participate in reviews to identify opportunities for technology to support process breakdowns
  • Support Source to Pay related software selection projects in support of continuous improvement of the process, providing recommendations to the Leadership team
  • Understand the fundamentals of sourcing and contracting system architecture and emerging capabilities
  • Responsible for identifying current technology enhancements and improvements and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve user experience and drive efficiencies on the GSS technology platform
  • Leads and/or supports technology implementation for GSS
  • Participate in projects to support Global Strategic Sourcing


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement and/or Information Systems and/or Shared Services experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement and/or Information Systems and/or Shared Services experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement and/or Information Systems and/or Shared Services experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement and/or Information Systems and/or Shared Services experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in, business, or any other highly quantitative discipline
  • Experience in Source to Pay technology (preference for past experience with Ariba and SAP)
  • Experience in SharePoint site ownership and management, including building sites
  • Demonstrated experience working with 3rd Party systems providers
  • Experience working for a Global corporation
  • Experience in technology implementation and managing stakeholders through change management
  • Managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations
  • Demonstrated experience in technology improvement programs
  • Experience in preparing and executing training materials to support technology solutions
  • Ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional global teams
  • Ability to influence at all levels with a customer service mindset
  • Ability to take initiative and work within an autonomous environment
