As an experienced Software Engineer - Design Authority, you'll shape the technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the firm. Working at the intersection of business and technology strategy and technology architecture, you'll interact with colleagues in various lines of businesses to learn about challenges and opportunities, and translate that insight into high-quality solutions. In addition to working with the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities. While your role requires deep technological skills – it also hinges on teamwork and leadership. You'll offer clear guidance and feedback to your Product Team colleagues, while promoting the values, culture and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

 

As the Rewards & Benefits Product (part of Consumer Card team in Consumer & Community Banking) we are responsible for developing and maintaining applications that support the Ultimate Rewards Platform, Partner Loyalty Programs and other Loyally and Benefits related initiatives. Rewards and Benefits offer a compelling opportunity to differentiate our consumer cards and increase sales volume, customer engagement, and customer loyalty. Since the 2009 launch, our Chase Ultimate Rewards® site has seen rapid growth to over 25MM accounts and has become a large-scale, internet-competitive e-commerce site with over 14.6MM visitors annually. Rewards & Benefits technology applications provide the backbone for this platform to process customer earning as well as high volumes of redemption traffic, which includes options such as Cash Back, Partner Points Transfers, Travel, Amazon Shop with Points, Gift Cards, Experiences, Apple Store and more.

As an experienced Software Engineering professional, you will combine your years of proven expertise with a never-ending quest to create innovative technology. Your mission is to be a leader on our team of innovators, solutions architects and technologists to create next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your expertise in various technology domains will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. In addition to creating solutions with your in-house team, you’ll also work alongside our team of technologists from around the world who are just as dedicated as you are.

 

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
 
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years in Information Technology Software Development and Delivery
  • Minimum 5 years as Technical Architect or Sr. Software Engineering Lead with proven record of driving adoption of solutions and platforms into production
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure design disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of technical architecture, design and business processes
  • Fluency in architecture and design across all systems
  • Knowledge and experience defining and working with microservices and service oriented architectures
  • Advanced knowledge of modern technologies and strategies to apply them (ex. API design and development, cloud-based architectures, movement of data to the edge)
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge and experience defining and working with microservices and service oriented architectures
  • Knowledge of PaaS platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, AWS EC2, ECS, RDS, ELB, Control Plane
  • Experience in Cloud orchestration/Configuration services such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm.
  • Experience with API Management platforms like IBM API Connect, APIGEE
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and improving the technical reference architecture and frameworks coupled with proven record of driving adoption of solutions and platforms into production
  • Experience in designing applications secure and resilient by adapting non-functional requirements
  • Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and business processes
  • Financial industry experience with exposure to credit card management systems in large scale/high volume industry is preferred
  • Experience in risk and risk control compliance
  • Knowledge of Fin Tech industry would be a plus
