Your Role: A Senior Project Manager (SPM) in the Capital Program Department (CAP) manages all aspects of design and construction of a variety of projects in New York City. Project types include waterfront development, buildings - new construction & renovation, major infrastructure and public open spaces.

The SPM will be responsible for the implementation of a portfolio of approximately 6-10 active capital projects with a total project value of approximately $100 million+.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effectively manages a variety of work to required standards of quality, quantity and timeliness
  • Communicates clearly and inclusively at all levels within EDC and without
  • Creates, builds and develops interpersonal relationships
  • Prioritizes work; delegates as necessary
  • Negotiates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrates strong industry knowledge
  • Anticipates and resolves problems as they arise
  • Adapts well to changing priorities and circumstances
  • Leads and influences teams to achieve desired outcomes
  • Continuing Education in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and/or Urban Planning
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management or related course of study
  • 2-5 years' experience in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture Urban Planning, or Construction Management
  • General computer skills (i.e. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to problem solving, to anticipate project issues and maintain project momentum and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Strong computer, written and verbal skills
  • Preferably working towards professional registration (P.E., R.A., R.L.A., AICP)
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software preferred
  • Prior experience on healthcare projects and large-scale building programs preferred
  • New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire
