About The Job

This job is a member of the Flight Service Team within the Customer Experience Division. This position will be responsible for designing and developing training programs using Instructional Systems Design principles in support of the American Airlines’ Flight Service training program. Works collaboratively with training management, customers, instructional staff and subject matter experts to understand customer training needs and create effective, skills based training solutions.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Performs training needs assessments and analyze results to determine training needs and performance gaps
  • Designs and develops web based training materials to meet Flight Service training requirements
  • Works collaboratively with a diverse team (department managers and supervisors, customer representatives, subject matter experts, instructional staff, program developers) to research, design, develop and implement effective training solutions
  • Provides technical support and resolves complex problems for computer-based training courseware for internal customers
  • Establishes relationships with key business customers and stakeholders
  • Delivers customer focused products and services
  • Takes ownership of assigned projects and does what is necessary to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards
  • Provides timely status updates and reports on assigned projects and organizational performance to supervisor
  • Leads and motivates employees working as a team
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to travel

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or advanced degree preferred in instructional systems design, training/curriculum development, education, organizational development or a related field 
  • 3 years curriculum development experience years curriculum development experience
  • Experience using ISD principles and the ADDIE process to include adult learning theories, interactive training and learning design, and e-learning design principles
  • Proficient in HTML, ActionScript 3, JavaScript Frameworks/Libraries, CSS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud products to include Animate, Captivate, Photoshop

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​Previous project management experience
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) as it relates to packaging and uploading training content
  • Knowledge of FAA, OSHA and other governmental regulations as it relates to training
  • ​Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities and projects
