Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

System Programming Support (60%)

  • Uses Software Engineering processes and determines business requirements in collaboration with Business Analysts and end users.
  • Identifies gaps between software functionality and business requirements and suggests potential solutions. Reports findings and recommendations to the project manager.
  • With assistance from the systems administrators and/or database administrators, installs, configures, and tests package application software.
  • Determines efficient data sources, processing requirements, output formats, timing issues, and cost factors associated with a new system implementation or upgrade.
  • Prepares software engineering detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Designs, codes, tests, and documents custom programs and /or changes to application modules and reports of varying complexity.
  • May develop or assist in the development of training sessions for users or other programmer/analysts involved in systems related work.
  • Designs, implements, and documents user/technical support procedures.
  • Provides ongoing maintenance support of existing systems.
  • Works with other computing support groups to provide ongoing support for departments in the use of various College systems, including continuing improvements in system usage, problem resolution, and additional training.
  • Advises Banner Team Lead of opportunities for and the ramifications of the use or expanded use of existing systems.

Customer Relationship (20%)

  • Work with Students, Faculty and Administrators to understand customer processes.
  • Proactively identify challenges the effect our clients and provide support and empathy to help them better succeed.

Communication / Mentorship (20%)

  • Mentors junior staff (Programmer/Analysts) by sharing knowledge, offering advice, and providing assistance, as needed.
  • Develops understanding of similarities and differences in diverse cultures through employee education programs.
  • Communicates respectfully to a diverse community.
