Responsible for the oversight of Commercial timeline deliverables with a clear understanding of functional interdependencies and critical path activities. Accountable for supporting various Commercial functional areas on projects in a timely and cost-effective way. Identifies and supervises the employment of vendors and consultants through contractual agreements and manages budgets of various projects, including due diligence. Responsible for the communication of project status and issues, and ensures project team goals and deliverables are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Life Cycle Management planning and sizing efforts.
  • Responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies that support the growth of ACADIAs pipeline and products within the US.
  • Key contributor to current and future business growth by strategically interfacing with Business Development, Research & Development, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access.
  • Supports various functional areas on Commercial Projects, initiates/attends sub-team meetings, organizes ad hoc working groups as needed to move project activities forward.
  • Assist SVP Sales and Market Access with Commercial Field Strategic Imperatives.
  • Lead execution of strategic commercial initiatives.
  • Serve as key influencer and/or decision maker with cross functional departments and partners.
  • Participates in Business Development assessments and opportunities.
  • Works with Due Diligence teams to review and develop commercial plans, including timelines, costs and requirements.
  • Oversees the management of development plans and other project planning, including timelines, budget, and resource management.
  • Lead Culture of Compliance efforts for commercial teams.
  • Proactively anticipates obstacles and devises and implements solutions to achieve project goals through management of relevant team members.
  • Provides guidance to team members to objectively assess and resolve commercial project and operational issues by identifying root causes as opportunities to improve effectiveness.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience. Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible, relevant experience in commercial management with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role.

Must possess:

  • Experience managing multi cross-functional project teams.
  • Advanced understanding of the commercial process and the principles, concepts, practices, and standards of pharmaceutical project management.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in coaching, influencing, facilitation, development, and problem solving
  • Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, partnership, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and skill with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting and tracking tools.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources and to be persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies, strategies and approaches that enhance the teams ability to achieve goals and meet timelines/deliverables.
  • Skilled at negotiating with business partners or management and influencing senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Proficient at creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or organizational goals.

Scope:

Establishes strategic plans for designated function(s) and may participate with senior management to align objectives across the organization. Develops methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of functional area and related organizational objectives.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
