  • This job is a member of the Information Technology team, within the Information Technology Division.
  • This position is a tactical technical role on a highly skilled team providing application, solution, and enterprise architecture services to the Operations Technology, Pilot Technology, and Flight Attendant Technology departments. 
  • Responsibilities include supporting the technical direction for the supported business domains, creating or evaluating solution and integration architectures for technical viability and alignment with product requirements, and delivery and maintenance of artifacts and work products in support of the architecture review, software development, and steady state operations.

What you'll do
  • Delivers and maintains artifacts and work products in support of the architecture review, software development, and steady state operations
  • Actively participates in requirements analysis, proofs of concepts, RFI & RFP processes, project funding, and solution delivery
  • Actively participates in supported systems’ steady state enhancement/support and project related Agile activities
  • Closely collaborates with delivery team, anticipates and acts upon issues that arise, provides alternative approaches, optimal solution, and continuously improving performance of applications
  • Develops prototypes and concepts for new technologies and ideas with the delivery team and with guidance from the lead architect.
  • Creates and help promote patterns/techniques to foster DevOps adoption.
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of application systems development experience
  • 2 years architectural and design experience


Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 7 years of application systems design experience
  • 3 years architectural/design experience, or technical/team leadership experience
  • Airline industry experience


Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Hands-on experience in systems development in a variety of computing architectures and environments
  • Hands-on experience with cloud deployment patterns, micro-services architecture, real time analytics, and big data
  • Proficient in Agile and SDLC methodologies
  • Strong technical expertise in J2EE environment, Microsoft technology, UNIX, Linux, MQ Series, UML, Tiered architecture, relational databases, web development, and object-oriented methodologies
  • Significant experience in requirements analysis and use case development, with a thorough understanding of software development life cycles, development and technology tools, testing methodologies, and requirements gathering.
  • Experience with the operations characteristics of large scale and highly available computer systems deployed in a variety of software and hardware environments
  • Knowledge of systems integration practices and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles and practices
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently with the skills to keep complex initiatives moving forward quickly while exercising an appropriate level of procedural discipline
  • Ability to build strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
