Position Summary:

Responsible for analytical modeling, support of plan design, measurement, reporting, program analysis and strategic insights for ACADIAs incentive compensation and promotion programming. This role is part of ACADIAs Commercial Insights, Analytics and Operations Department and reports to our Incentive Compensation and Sales Analytics Director. The position will potentially support multiple brands and indications over time and will collaborate with key business partners to achieve commercial objectives and to support a data-driven business strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position will support all aspects of sales force analytics and incentive compensation, including plan design and performance, MBO plan metrics, plan documents, plan roll-out, report analytics and presentation of insights for a variety of field-based commercial teams
  • Analyzes national and sub-national trends and performance and provides actionable insights to inform business decisions
  • Provides support to other Sales Operations team members as it relates to Incentive Compensation and field reports/systems
  • Supports the execution of key activities within the Sales Operations department including the following:
    • Data reconciliation: Review drafts of incentive compensation reports to ensure their accuracy and efficient distribution
    • Sales effectiveness metrics: Identifies relevant field KPIs and works with field leadership and IT to put in place relevant reports/dashboards to understand and effectively manage the opportunity
    • Sub-national Analytics: Performs relevant assessments at the territory or regional level to identify areas of over/under performance, opportunities and insights
  • May support other Sales Operations functions with:
    • Customer Targeting: Supports the field force call planning cycle by using of a variety of data sources to identify relevant HCP and account targets, enlisting input from the field, creating actionable target lists for the sales force, and tracking/measuring sales force adherence to the target list
    • Territory alignments: Leads efforts to optimize and update territory alignments utilizing a vendor or mapping software
    • Commercial dashboards that track brand performance weekly, monthly or on an ad-hoc basis
  • May collaborate with other internal partners in Data Governance and IT to properly integrate all relevant commercial data in the data-warehouse, including master data management and customer affiliations data sets
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree in Business Analytics or related field; masters degree preferred, and 4 years experience in marketing science, statistics, information science, science or economics highly preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered. Also requires experience in querying data from a data-warehouse to build reports, track KPIs and uncover insights. Having relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry within the sales operations and/or commercial analytics departments is a strong plus.

Must possess:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organization skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of data management and query tools (MS Access or SQL, or SAS)
  • Strong skills in data model, report development and dashboard design
  • Strong knowledge of Powerpoint and presentation skills
  • Strong business planning, budgeting acumen and judgment
  • Ability to uncover insights and summarize results in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work effectively across functions as a team player
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects
  • Demonstrable track record in leading projects from concept through execution
  • Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of programming languages (SAS, C++, R) is a plus

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of functional area objectives and their impact on, and interaction with, other functions within the organization. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations.
