Overview

In this high-visibility role, the successful candidate will work closely with the Manager to supervise the day to day operations of the Revenue Accounting team. The Senior Revenue Analyst will be expected to quickly navigate a steep learning curve to become the anchor of the Revenue Accounting team, and become a subject matter expert on the team's processes. He/she will work side by side with the Manager to lead the team as it maintains a constant focus on delivering superior customer service to Atlas' customers, as well as to the many Atlas departments the Revenue Accounting team supports.

Responsibilities

  • Place a premium on accuracy and quality of presentation in all matters
  • Execute Analyst work (e.g., prepare invoices, cash receipt applications, journal entries, account reconciliations) as needed to ensure smooth team workflow
  • Accurately and efficiently review and approve invoices, cash receipt applications, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Analysts on the team whose work the Supervisor will review
  • Assist Manager in coordinating month-end Close and ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Deliver accurate, thorough, well-presented, and actionable ad-hoc analyses under restrictive time constraints
  • Prepare and/or review Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Variance Analyses to explain business dynamics that drive changes in Balance Sheet accounts
  • Prepare and/or review monthly Revenue Analyses to measure performance across all Business Lines
  • Drive timely collections of Receivables by communicating with customers and Sales & Marketing personnel
  • Provide Analyses to determine appropriate amounts of Bad Debt reserves
  • Demonstrate continually deepening understanding of all Atlas revenue sources along with other drivers of Receivables
  • Lead implementation of process improvements to streamline accounting, reporting, and analytical functions
  • Assist in development and implementation of new and/or upgraded financial systems
  • Lead and coordinate team responses to internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure adherence to revenue recognition policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls related to revenue and accounts receivable


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • 5 Years of experience in Accounting in roles of progressively greater responsibility
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (emphasis on presentation, accuracy, speed, and creativity)
  • Highly analytical
  • Can-do creative approach to independent research and problem solving
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or Masters
  • JD Edwards fluency
  • Public Accounting background
  • Revenue / AR Accounting experience
  • Airline Industry experience
