The Departmentof Oncology and Inflammation Research isseeking a highly motivated scientist to investigate mechanisms of immune regulation in cancer, with a focus on myeloid and stromal cell biology.

The candidate will work to discover and validate new therapeutic targets using cutting-edge technologies, such as single cell transcriptomics, 3-dimensional organoid cultures, and/or in vitro and in vivo gain/loss-of-function screens. This position will be an integral component of a dynamic research team collaborating across multiple Amgen sites and functional areas, including Therapeutic Discovery and Medical Sciences.

Position Responsibilities

Perform cutting-edge research combining immunology, oncology, and human genetics

Apply innovative technologies and approaches to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets

Publish experimental findings in top-tier journals and present findings at national and/or international scientificconferences

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 4years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

PhD or MD, with postdoctoral training and research experience in the fields of immunology, oncology, cancer immunotherapy, and/or molecular biology

Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the areas of immunology or oncology, as demonstrated by high impact publications

Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1. Multi-color flow cytometry, 2. single cell transcriptomics/genomics, 3. complex in vitro primary cell models, 4. cell signaling/biochemistry, 5. in vivo mouse models of disease

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and solve problems
