Amgen is seeking a Salesforce Engineer at our Tampa, FL location to join the Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) group. This position will be help deliver a new Digital Experience to our Corporate Affairs and Global Commercial Functions teams.

The Salesforce engineer role will continually utilize your technical skills in new and varied ways. This role will build solutions that not only solve business needs but deliver a first-class user experience. This position is responsible for crafting and building secure, scalable solutions and working alongside Platform/Product Owners, Architects, and within the broader technology team to develop products aligned with standard methodologies. You will stay abreast to the Salesforce roadmap and capabilities, provide feedback to and develop standard methodologies, optimize engineering or release processes.

Experience working in Agile teams is a plus - the Salesforce engineer will work as part of a Scrum team to deliver solutions in an iterative fashion that values continuous improvement to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test and debug Salesforce applications (including Lightning components, custom objects, workflows, and Apex) - Strong Lightning experience is preferred
  • Translate application requirements to deliver software meeting business needs
  • Model new custom objects and fields to support business requirements
  • Bring experience to conversations around solution design - buy vs build, AppExchange, and configuration vs development
  • Perform as a teammate coordinating with larger teams to design, develop, test and deploy solutions
  • Support the creation of integrations required for solution delivery (REST)
  • Understand Salesforce security and apply the Organization-Wide Default, sharing patterns, profiles or permissions to your applications
  • Research Salesforce capabilities as needed to suit business requirements
  • Develop estimates for development work
  • Work in an agile team to mature platform capabilities though backlog grooming, sprint planning and other agile ceremonies
  • Keep skills current by understanding Salesforce roadmaps and new capabilities introduced to the platform


Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • A candidate with Salesforce Platform Developer I certification or above
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Superb interpersonal skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts
  • Good communication and problem-solving capabilities
  • Working understanding of Agile and Scrum
  • 2+ years of experience developing and customizing Salesforce applications via Lightning components, Apex, web services, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, Visual Force, Visual Studio Code, Data Loader, Reports and Dashboards
  • Hands-on experience building automation and workflows
  • Prior experience working with clients and vendors developing solutions and supporting projects from requirements capturing to release management
  • Experience with AppExchange and a working knowledge of how to install managed and un-managed applications
