Position Purpose

To participate in conducting statistics in a collaborative health services research environment. The position works with principal and junior investigators as well as other biostatisticians and database administrators in the execution of assigned research projects. He/she will perform delegated responsibilities that include statistical planning and analysis related to health services research investigating the incidence, prevalence and cost of diseases, conditions, and disabling illnesses, as well as the provision and administration of care, managed care and insurance programs.

This position is located at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, which is a Smoke-Free Facility.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

• Programming/Analytics: Under the direction of the DAC leadership and Research project teams: identifies appropriate data sources, extracts, merges, transforms, and manipulates dataset structure for optimum analytic structure following programming/analytic specifications. (60%)
• Technical Documentation: Using GIT , ensures consistent source code documentation, with logical comments, naming convention, structure, and organization. (15%)
• Independently summarizes and delivers results of data linkage activities to research team(s) in readable, presentation ready reports including inclusion/exclusion criteria applied to extracted/combined datasets, flowcharting datasets used to develop extracts, and other requested summaries. (15%)
• Under the direction of DAC Leadership and Research project teams: Communicates proactively, obtaining agreement with the research team on any and all data/research method decisions prior implementation and tracked consistently within technical documentation. (5%)
• May participate in the preparation of written grant proposals, research reports, and scientific presentations and published articles. (5%)
