About The Job

This position is a member of the Commercial Data & Analytics Team within the Revenue Planning Technology group of the Information Technology Division. The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for multiple projects utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies. The role will provide Agile project management for the delivery of solutions to support the analytical needs driven by the Revenue Management and Network Planning business communities leveraging diverse data platforms such as Teradata, on-prem Hadoop, and Cloud platforms.


Specifically, you'll do the following:

  • Manages/oversees all aspects of multiple simultaneous fast-paced assigned projects with distributed teams
  • Designs and maintains project vision, project working standards, and agreements
  • Develops project roadmap, release plan, resource allocation, funding request, communication plan, risks and issues management plan, test plan, and defect management plan
  • Manages project scope, budget, project burn charts, presentations to IT/Business, daily standup, agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and retrospective sessions

  • Be cognizant of pure Agile concepts but have the confident ability to deviate according to real-world project dynamics
  • Implements Agile methodology using Rally and Planview tools
  • Facilitates reporting of team’s delivery KPI’s; i.e. Deployment Frequency, Development Cycle Time, Incidents, Mean Time To Recover, Change Failure Rate
  • Tracks, updates, and communicates project status in a proactive manner as it relates to project progress, budget/cost, resource utilization, change requests, issues, risks, and risk mitigation plan
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders at all levels of management to ensure project priorities are aligned with business needs and expectations
  • Ensures that appropriate project documentation and deliverables are clearly defined and delivered
  • Mentors and Coaches Agile teams to ensure value driven outcomes
  • Uses business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting complex requirements, scoping, interviewing, facilitation, system component design, testing, and implementation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
  • 3 years of experience managing and delivering IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring teams while leveraging Agile methodologies, with strong focus on continuous improvement and developing self-organizing teams
  • Proficiency in Rally, Planview, or similar Agile life cycle management tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent leadership skills, team-focused with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Strong analytical, estimating, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically and develop tactical methods to achieve objectives and goals
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, customers, and external groups, as well as working in a collaborative environment with geographically dispersed resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development
  • 5+ years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing and delivering IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies, such as Agile/Scrum
  • Airline Industry experience
  • BI / Data Visualization Tools such as Tableau/Power BI
  • Previous experience within Data Warehouse/Data Engineering teams
  • Certified ScrumMaster or PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
