Your Role: Within Neighborhood Strategies, Project Manager to work with interdisciplinary teams on a diverse portfolio of interdisciplinary projects and to develop and implement plans for complex redevelopment and revitalization projects in New York City neighborhoods.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams facilitating large-scale planning and development efforts
  • Establish and oversee interagency working groups on select projects, meeting frequently to move projects forward and address challenges
  • Articulate a vision for and evaluate the feasibility of future development based on sound planning principles and market realities
  • Develop financing and implementation strategies for interim and long-term uses
  • Craft and manage public outreach processes
  • Represent the organization in professional and public forums
  • Build and maintain relationships with governmental and quasi-governmental entities; real estate and business groups; civic & community organizations; cultural and professional organizations; and advocacy groups
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, real estate, public policy, or related field
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in economic or community planning and development, or equivalent
  • Understanding of real estate development economics and finance
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • New York City residency required within 180 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding and interest in urban planning, infrastructure and economic development issues
  • Strong understanding of and experience with the technical aspects of the public planning and development process, preferably specific to NYC
  • Strong entrepreneurial and leadership ability and public speaking skills
  • Experience with structuring and facilitating community planning processes
  • Proven ability to work independently
