Project Director - Title V Grant - San Jac IPAS (Grant Funded) - Central Campus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with Student Services leadership to implement a new comprehensive advising model.
  • Collaborate with IT on the purchase, development, and implementation of a customizable student portal and the continued development of the AI Chatbot.
  • Work with student services leadership to implement a comprehensive training program for advisors and student services.
  • Collaborate with student services and IT to purchase, develop, and implement a Customer Relationship Management platform and assist with the development of a comprehensive student communication plan including early alerts.
  • Establish effective communication regarding the project to the campus community.
  • Collect data and assess project progress, outcomes, and success through collaboration with the external grant evaluator and the research office to ensure grant deliverables and reports are submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Administer project budget according to the US Department of Education federal grant guidelines as well as SJC policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and manage internal project processes including reporting to ensure compliance with relevant College and grant related rules and regulations.


Additional Job Functions:
  • Interact directly with US Department of Education and develop and maintain key relationships with college staff/instructors and community resources.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, as well as Title V and US Department of Education policies and grant terms and conditions.
  • Work with Office of Grants Management to ensure financial compliance and budget monitoring.
  • Analyze and prepare end of quarter, end of activity reports required by US Department of Education.
  • Other grant implementation duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Sound working knowledge of computing systems and software including student database systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Team player/leader; cooperative orientation.
  • High priority on customer service.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Efficient, detail oriented, self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.


Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:
  • Master's degree

Required Experience:
  • Four years of experience in higher education in areas related to student persistence, completion, transfer, advising, and articulation
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Two years budget management experience
  • Experience managing large scale projects
  • Experience with data collection, evaluation, and report writing

Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of state, federal and /or local funding guidelines and SJC procedures and policies
  • Previous experience managing a grant
  • Experience in a community college setting in areas related to student services or grant management
  • Proficient in Banner and/or other student data management software


Salary Grade: 26
