About the Position

Jobs for the Future's Back on Track Counseling Services are a robust set of technology-informed postsecondary and career exploration services for schools/programs serving young people who are, or have previously been disconnected from education and the workforce. The Best Bets Framework, which is foundational to our services, provides an actionable model for students as well as student support staff, to identify postsecondary training programs that lead to a credential with value in the labor market. The services include workshops, tools, and resources; as well as a technology platform, MyBestBets. MyBestBets is a joint venture of Jobs for the Future and YouthBuild USA. This position would be housed within Jobs for the Future, and report directly to the Associate Director and work with a team consisting of internal colleagues (fiscal lead; senior leadership; and technical lead (our vendor)) as well as external partners/colleagues at YouthBuild USA (joint partner on MyBestBets).

A Program Manager for the Back on Track Counseling team will be a self-starter, comfortable with a fast-paced environment that involves both stakeholder relationship maintenance and using technology to improve student outcomes. Overall responsibilities of the Program Manager position involve the project management of multiple projects as well as input and development of programming/content to further the services. Specific responsibilities might include: stakeholder interactions (including helpdesk duties); user data analysis and recommendations; coordination and, occasional lead, for Best Bets workshops and trainings; and communications support (marketing/social media). The position requires the ability to participate in and support meetings with clients/customers/grantees; work within the CMS of MyBestBets; aggregate and analyze feedback from users of MyBestBets; and effectively support and advance project deliverables as a member of a project team.

MyBestBets (technology platform) Special Projects :

A Program Manager will participate as a project team member on multiple pilot and implementation efforts concurrently, including implementation efforts in school districts, community-based organizations, Job Corps Center sites, and YouthBuild USA sites.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Under direction of Associate Director, conduct technical assistance support to MyBestBets users, gather user feedback, and generate monthly reports on qualitative and quantitative feedback, with recommendations for MBB strategy and platform revisions.
  • Update and develop content pertaining to MyBestBets platform
  • Set up log-in credentials, and provide information to potential partners/customers
  • Coordinate helpdesk ticketing system
  • Work closely with YouthBuild USA staff to coordinate project management to ensure MyBestBets deliverables are met.


Internal Coordination of Resource Allocation
  • Participate in providing planning and implementation assistance to customers using MyBestBets
  • Support the planning and facilitating of meetings of diverse stakeholders, including peer-learning meetings, technical assistance workshops, and site visits to grantees
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in public forums with colleagues regarding activities and outcomes of assigned projects
  • Effectively understand the Back on Track Counseling service lines and communicate the research, framework, and tools/resources appropriate for a variety of contexts.


General Responsibilities :
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants, including scheduling meetings, co-creating scopes of work, and managing contract processes
  • Support business development activities such as light market research
  • Collect platform analytics and qualitative feedback analyses; develop and implement strategy to respond to findings
  • Work closely with communications regarding media opportunities, with occasional needs for blog writing.
  • Ensuring that deliverables are developed in a timely fashion.


Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a related field
  • Content experience regarding postsecondary and career exploration a plus
  • Experience or familiarity with educational technologies and implementation efforts of those technologies
  • Strong research and writing skills including experience generating reports and proposals
  • Evidence of success in supporting project and grant management, federal grant management a plus
  • Strong mission-driven interest in edtech and innovation benefiting all students
  • Experience coaching, or supporting, educators and student support staff (formal or informal)
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and verbally to a public audience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of time
