The Product Manager for CampusNexus Financial Aid sets strategic direction for Financial Aid functionality in CampusNexus Student products. The Product Manager will maintain a prioritized product roadmap that includes a balance of new features, customer driven enhancements, architectural improvements and technical debt. The successful candidate is expected to understand and define revenue opportunities in new and existing markets. The PM will know and/or learn the full scope of the Financial Aid functionality and its interaction with other modules within the CampusNexus Student solution including Student Accounts, Academics and Admissions. The PM will serve as a CampusNexus product evangelist and thought leader to the global Higher Ed market.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Help define, deliver and execute product and feature launches.
  • Define requirements to address the strategic roadmap for key components of Financial Aid with a specific focus on end user and student experiences.
  • Create and document business cases and dimensions that map to requirements.
  • Perform market research, communicate trends relevant to the market and company objectives.
  • Work closely with PM leadership, Development and QA to prioritize product development.
  • Determine a release footprint target for each release.
  • Provide periodic market and customer status updates to other internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Financial Aid module and process life cycle.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate product focus throughout entire organization including senior leadership, product development teams, sales, professional services, marketing, UX, etc.
  • Track results, provide insights, and make recommendations to improve customer experience and ROI.
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Assist in project scoping, cost analysis, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with the Higher Ed market and community, representing Campus Management.
  • Attend and present at industry conferences.
  • Provide content for, and participate in, webinars and other virtual distribution channels.
  • Build a “personal brand” and market leadership
  • Support and engage in key sales opportunities as necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry and/or product experience as outlined above
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education use cases and Federal Student Aid programs
  • Relevant experience in Public Sector/Not-for-profit preferred.
  • Passion for customer engagement, collaboration and translating insights into compelling products.
  • Strong strategic thinking, excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work with a team of peers and colleagues across lines of business.
  • Build positive relationships and trust through on-time delivery, high quality, continuous innovation, and exceeding expectations.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have the following:
  • Financial Aid experience in the Higher Ed enterprise, from customer, vendor and/or implementation standpoint.
  • Student Information System/SIS experience particularly in the Financial Aid/Student Finance area.
  • Experience using, implementing or supporting Higher Ed industry SIS and ERP solutions such as PeopleSoft, Ellucian or Workday.
  • Experience in Higher Ed marketing and/or customer programs preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% during certain time periods, primarily in the US.
